My DD15 loves Japan so we made an ADR for Teppan Edo. DH and I are not big on Asian food and have never eaten in a restaurant like this before. We have no idea what to expect. Any advice on how you order or what food would be good for people who don't really care for Asian food? Also where is the entrance for the restaurant?
Thank you!!!!

I think you'll like it and find plenty to eat. The entrance is in the Japan pavilion, there is a department store on the first floor and then a big staircase that leads you to the restaurant on the second floor. Basically, you are seated at a big table (with other diners). One side of the table is a grill, where the chef cooks your food in front of you. There are many "safe" entrees, like chicken, steak, and shrimp. The chef will stir fry your meat of choice (or not, for vegetarians) with veggies and rice. It's very good quality food.

My DD7 is one of the pickiest eaters and she was quite happy with her food at this restaurant. My food was excellent and we would definately return here. I had the steak and she had the grilled chicken and rice. Highly recommend this restaurant.

I have eaten at Japanese restaurants before - is this the same? Or is the atmosphere at least a little better?

The atmosphere is much better than most of the Japanese restuarants and this is one of the hardest restuarants to get into at EPCOT and definitely one of the most popular- I'm sure you'll love it. If you google the restuarant and the word menu you will find plently of links to menus. Basically you are going to get some vegetables, meat, soup and possibly salad. Picky eaters are definitly easy to please since they have lots of variety and the kids meal is great- my DS (3) loved it.

The tempura appetizer was a bit bland; the stir fry entrees are quite good though :)

I have a question about this place:

In the pics I've seen, the veggies are always: onions, zucchini, and mushrooms.

Is that it? Does it ever change? Are there other options?

I hate mushrooms and zucchini. I was thinking of making an ADR for this place, but not if those are the only veggies offered for the stir fry.

Can anyone chime in?

I haven't been there but I saw a dining review where someone had corn and pea pods as their vegetables

went there last year with friends who eat Japanese often and they loved it. Don't worry about what to order, just pick the meat/fish you like and you'll be happy you went.

1) Don't worry about Asian food.
2) It is VERY Americanized.
3) But, there is a precaution:
. . . do not insult the chef
. . . he carries BIG knives
. . . and wields them throughout the dining experience

Thanks to everyone for the advice! We still haven't told DD that we are eating there. We are going to surprise her that night. It should be a fun experience.

Well I Love this place and I am in no way a fancy eater. I am a steak & macaroni person. When I go here I get steak & shrimp. This place is great. You will love it. It is a must do for us everytime. Have fun.:thumbsup2
