Advice for Spring Break

Howdy! We are making a pit stop at WDW at the tail end of our Spring Break-- arriving late 3/30 and departing early 4/3. We are pretty seasoned Disney-goers, but I've never been during a really peak time. We have just one park day planned--MK on 4/1. The rest of the time we are doing all the things we never seem to fit in during a regular low-season trip-- lots of dining, mini-golf, Splittsville, etc. I have our MK planned meticulously-- utilizing 8am EMH, stacking all of our major rides first thing, then feeding in our FP, then spending the afternoon doing things that have shorter waits (TS Island, MILF, Philharmagic, TTA, Railroad loop.) Our dinner is at 6:45 at the Plaza, and I did plan our last FP for Wishes (we've done this several times now-- I know it's not everyone's choice but we like having a guaranteed spot.) I am really look looking for reassurance from seasoned Spring Breakers that we will not have a miserable day.... Or words of caution:rolleyes:! I'm mostly worried about the general crowd level outside the rides-- is it truly awful? Our day is a 9/10 on TouringPlans. EAsy WDW has it as not recommended, but I know a part of that is the EMH, and we have found early EMH work very well for our family. Thoughts? Thank you!

We experienced level 10 crowds last week for the first time and honestly with the right planning, it's very manageable. I was shocked at how many people don't actually get to the parks until after 11am.

Hit your major attractions at rope drop. Then schedule your FP. See the shows during the afternoon, eat at off times. You'll be fine. And, many people leave after Wishes. Most rides were 20 mins or less after Wishes almost every night last week.

The crowds outside of rides were bad between 11am and 9pm. You just had to go with the flow and plan your steps when needing to get to the opposite side. Of course the worst place is always getting down Main Street.

Are you staying in a Disney resort? Many of the busses we saw had insane lines and were standing room only. We stayed at Beach Club and Baylake and advoided busses as much as possible.

Thank you! Or plan is EMH, hitting every ride that is actually important to us that we don't have a FP for by 10-10:30. Then we will hit things that have longer but not miserable waits (Pooh, Under the Sea, Dumbo) and use the railroad to get back over to Frontierland for our Splash FP. Then Lunch at LTT, Tom Sawyer's, BTMRR FP, then make our way slowly back through Fantasyland/Tomorrowland for things like Philharmagic, Laugh Floor, Peoplemover, then dinner at the Plaza at 6:45. Hoping to cut through stores to grab some souvenirs after dinner, then fight the crowds to the Wishes FP area. I'm hoping my kids (9&7) can hang for a bit after Wishes to hit up a few more favorites-- we will see. Thanks for the bus advice-- we are staying at CBR. We have only stayed mod one other time, and I found bus service to be HORRIBLE, so we are planning to be out the door at the crack of dawn to drive to the TTC, even though that will add some transport time in. Praying the ferry after Wishes is running-- I'm nervous about a long monorail line. I guess we could always take a boat to the Poly and walk to the TTC is absolutely necessary.

Sounds like you have a really good plan in place. I'm sure you'll be fine. Another option for leaving the park is to hit the resort monorail instead of express to TTC. The lines were way better for it when we were there.

Enjoy your trip!!!

The year we went to MK during Easter week, we found that lines weren't as bad as we'd expected, but the crowds in the walkways were ridiculous. It was like the guests were all just hanging out instead of doing rides.

... (TS Island, MILF, Philharmagic, TTA, Railroad loop.) ....

Okay, I have to ask, what does MILF stand for? It cannot mean what I think it means, and when I Google this acronym in combination with 'disney' I end up on pages where I don't want to go... :p

We have made three trips ( 1 during Christmas week and 2 during Spring Break) at peak times and although we were initially apprehensive about the crowds we went with a "whatever" attitude. We have had wonderful times and wouldn't hesitate to go again ... in fact we will be there next month at the tail end of the Spring Break crowds.

Your plan sounds great ... we found that we could ride a lot at MK before our first FP which we generally scheduled after 10:30. In fact, last year we entered at rope drop on an EMH (AM) morning and rode 7DMT, Space Mountain, Barnstormer, Winnie the Pooh, the Teacups, and had a cinnamon roll at Gaston's before we headed to Pirates of the Caribbean for our first fast pass!

We generally head our of the parks after noon when the crowds get really heavy. You will find that the crowds can be a bit overwhelming at times but hang in there and I would suggest planning your bathroom trips strategically ... they get pretty crowded and you may find lines where you generally don't!

Have fun!

We've driven to the MK many times and almost always take the Ferry. It seems to be faster to me. I have no idea if it is. Always take the ferry when we leave the park. They used to have a few running and they squeeze you on like sardines. LOL Also if you take your time and leave long after Wishes the crowds will have let up a bit. Even with kids your age, we looked for an abandoned stroller...a Disney one that is just sitting somewhere in the park after Wishes. The kids loved riding in it even though they had to jam to fit in. It seemed to perk them up a bit late at night. LOL
