Hey guys..

Wondering what your suggestions might be on this one:

A coworker of mine and I are coming to Disney World for a conference Feb 14-16 at the Beach Club Resort. We thought we could take some time prior to the conference and arrive on the 10th to check out Disney World.

We're looking to fire through the four parks on three days (the 11, 12, 13th). Obviously we will need to park hop on one day between two parks. Any advice on how to do that?

Also, we aren't sure what the best course of action is for hotel. Not sure if staying at the Beach Club for the entire stay is the best course of action. Should we maybe stay at a value resort for the whole thing? Or, is it wiser to stay at a value resort for the first few days and then move to the Beach Club for the conference? Or, finally, is it best to stay off site, rent a car, and commute to the parks/conference for the whole stay?

I'm thinking transferring to a new resort midway would be a real hassle?:confused3

Thoughts and feedback is all appreciated. Thanks!

We've done it a number of ways.

My husband attended a conference at CB and we stayed there- he conferenced, we went to the parks and he met us afterwards.

Last April, I attended a conference at the Grand Floridian. Conference was for four days but we stayed a total of 8 days. We stayed at the POP and I commuted to the GF. Communting was a PAIN because I didn't have a car and was using disney transportation. However, being on property allowed my husband to take the kids to the park via bus while I was working.

I would not split my stay, that's a hassle. Since we saved so much money staying at POP instead of GF I would def do that again, but I would want to rent a car. (Taxi's to/from would have been the cost of a rental car.)

You can purchase after 2PM and after 4PM park tickets for conference goers, but if you're staying for more than 4 days a regular ticket costs the same.

Do you have a good convention rate at BC? Can they offer it to you for the days prior to the conference too? If so, I'd just stay there. Another alternative would be to stay at the Swan or Dolphin for the whole trip at a lower rate. You'll still be really close to the conference (walking distance) and not need a rental car or taxis to get to the meetings.

And as for park touring. I'd get park hoppers. I'd start of one day at MK, one at DHS, and one at AK. I'd end two days at Epcot and one at MK, arriving at each after doing your main attractions at the other parks. And I'd take advantage of EMH hours if available.

Since you want to fire walk through four parks in three days, then staying at the BC the whole time is the most efficient way to do this. Epcot and HS are both a walk and/or boat ride away from BC. We always do AK first thing in the morning, coming back in early afternoon, then head into Epcot in the evening. Then we do HS first thing on another day, again heading into Epcot in the evening. And on another day we would go to MK. There are your four parks in three days. :) You can also ride the monorail from MK to the TTC, switch to the Epcot monorail, and walk through Epcot. We never go to Epcot in the mornings when we stay at the Beach Club. It is just so much easier to do that park in the evenings. :)

If money is no object, then stay at BC for the whole time. Adding park hopping to a ticket is the same cost for one day as for multiple days, so just add it at the start and park hop when you want to.
