Should I buy now, or wait for a DVC discount? Does DVC offer a discount now? I need a specific night and don't want to miss out for a few dollars. Thanks

Thanks! Do I have to call member services or is there a way to get the DVC discount online? I can't wait to go!!

They are available via the member website:
Member Privileges > Member Perks > WDW Resort > WDW Annual Pass Savings and More Magic > WDW Annual Pass Savings. In the section titled 'How To Purchase a Pass', click on 'Walt Disney World Ticket Store'. Select 'Special Events' in the 'Browse Available Tickets' drop down and click Go.

Or you can call MS. They are will call only regardless of purchase method.

I've been to MNSSHP the past three years and have never had a problem getting a ticket, even though I wait until 2-3 days before the event.

And unless you're wanting to go right around the actual date of Halloween it may be best for you to wait as well. Here's why.
  • The ticket's for earlier dates almost never sell out in advance of the actual day of the event.
  • The ticket's are non-refundable. They go "on with the show" no matter what.
  • Do you want to buy tickets months in advance only to have thunderstorms roll in the whole evening of your scheduled MNSSHP?

I'd suggest you wait until at least 2-3 days before the date you want to go. Then check the weather forecast. Make sure that there's no hurricane, tropical storm/depression, or just huge rain front that's going to be coming in. Then if the weather looks like it'll be good (at least good enough for you) then call MS and buy the tickets.

Going this route could potentially save you hundreds of dollars and a lot of agony.

But again, it's only my opinion and everyone should be free to do whatever they feel is best.

Either way, good luck and I hope you have a great time. It really is a lot of fun.

 Yes, I have my tickets! I could wait, but we are only going for one week and I'm trying to have everything done in advance. Our dining reservations are made, girls are booked for the Pirate League, and we are good to go! If it rains, it really won't matter unless it's a major storm. Hopefully the tiki gods will smile upon us

They will ship it out to you with DVC discount. You do not need to do will call. Just purchased mine tonight.

I purchased mine today as well!! MNSSHP here we come!!

There are only two MNSSHP nights during my trip and I would rather go on one of the nights (rain or shine) over the other. So I just ordered to make sure we get to go on the night we want to.

I bought mine using the DVC discount and paid to have them shipped. Five minutes after I bought, the CM called me back and said because I bought them with a discount, I'd have to pick them up at Will Call. They had to cancel the first transaction and I had to rebuy them minus the shipping charge. I'm calling back in the morning. I hate Will Calling tickets. :headache:

I was under the impression that it tends to sell out, especially weekend dates. Is that not the case?

I just went online to purchase ours, and it doesn't give me the option for Will Call...only to have them shipped with the cheapest shipping cost being $5.00. I guess I'll just call and order them since I don't want to end up with the order being cancelled then have to do it all over again.:worried:

I ordered my last night through the DVC site and also received the option to have them shipped (cheapest $5) without a choice of will call. I didn't get a call from MS or anything this am to say that it needed to be cancelled as they couldn't ship discounted tickets. However the day is still young ;) they might call back. I have never purchased special event (or any tickets) through the member site before so not sure how it works.

Since this will be our 1st party, I have a ton of questions. But first--does anyone know how early you're allowed to enter the park if you're not already in the MK? I know I've read in a couple different places that the wristbands are given out as early as 4, but we actually won't be in the MK that day, just coming for the party. Will we still be able to get in that early, or will we have to wait until 7? Thanks!!

You should be able to enter the MK starting at 4pm with a party ticket. They will have a separate entrance setup prior to 7pm that will be the only one with wristbands.

Just spoke with a CM who confirmed with his supervisor that I could not get them shipped due to the discount. He sounded a little confused and did say it's only the second day, which I think it's the third ;) day selling them. I have no clue what exactly that means. Anyway, I can pick them up at our villa's concierge so that's better than the ticket booth option for me. :thumbsup2

It's a shame you cant print out the tickets online like you can from Disney tickets site.

As far as getting in at 4pm. You shouldn't have a problem unless the park is crowded that day (it usually isn't). The answer I get each year is, "we will let the party goers in starting around 4PM is crowd levels permit."

Most people avoid MK that day, because they get charged for a full day and get kicked out early.

The earliest we have arrived is around 4PM and have always gotten in. We now go about 5 to 5:30 to have a early dinner. (Don't waste your party having dinner in the park).

Also, skip the first parade and RIDE RIDE RIDE there will be no wait. Second parade will have better views as most people went to the first parade.

We have had our best views from the bridge in front of splash mountain (get there 20 min before the parade to stake out a spot) Also, good views from around Liberty Tree Tavern.

When it comes to the fireworks, make sure you are south of the castle for the best views. I like the rose garden or the bridge to tomrrowland.

Anyway, HAVE FUN this is my favorite day at MK.:goodvibes

Just in case people aren't aware, having your tickets at Will Call doesn't mean you have to pick them up the night of the party. Any guest relations office or ticket window can print them for you on any day, not just party days. IIRC I had to show my ID and the credit card we used to buy the tickets.

Seems like inconsistency with shipping policy for DVC discount. First year I used discount, I was told to pick up. 2nd time, I told ticket agent that she could not ship that I had to pick up onsite. My tickets ended up coming via mail without shipping charge. This year, I received discount and was charged $5.00 for shipping. They confirmed my address with my account on line. I assumed it listed my DVC member number since no one requested this.

and your confirmation #. if you forget/misplace it, MS can look it up, don't ask how I know that:rolleyes1
