Advice for making own Epcot Passport please...

Hi everyone,

I am wanting to make a special Epcot World Showcase Passport for my 6 year old daughter and I am needing some help/ideas. I was hoping to put a map of the country on each page and their flag (already found them all) and areas to put pictures here and there (so my daughter can bring this to school for show and tell and to remember the trip). I was also thinking of putting lines in for a sentence for the CM to write something but what? It would be neat if it was something other than "Hello, my name is _____" kwim? and then a translation. Also I was thinking about putting in areas to write in afterwards like "My favorite thing about Mexico was ____" We tried ____ in Norway" etc. and something about Christmas since we will be there in less than 3 weeks. I'm just sort of lost since it has been 7 years since I have been to Epcot and I can't really remember how everything is set up. Any help, comments, pictures, anything would be very appreciated.

I plan to get the cover laminated and bound at Staples so I really want this to be special. TIA!!!

Wow! Your ideas sound really neat already! You might want to check out a store that sells scrapbooking supplies, as there might be some stickers that you could add in. As a thought, you might also want to post on the Cooking, Crafting, Scrapping board to ask for suggestions.

The times that we did Epcot Passports, the CMs each wrote something in their language without us asking or telling them what to write. A lot of people do passports, so they have lots of practice.

They each wrote something different and then translated it after writing it. Things like "Hello, I hope you enjoyed visiting my country," but each one wrote something a little different. The Japanese and Chinese CMs asked my DDs their names and then wrote the child's name in the letters of their language.
Each country also had a stamper for the CM to stamp in the passports. I've forgotten exactly what it said, but the stamps are usually by the Kidcot stations.

I think your idea sounds very good. Especially the open ended sentences to give her some format for remembering. How many sentences and what sorts of things to put kind of depends on your child. I would probably make the same "starter sentences" for each county to make it easier for her to think of things. A few more things I can think of might be:
I was surprised that ___________.
The people wore_______________.
In the shops, they sold _________.

If you want to include something about smells, most of the countries sell some sort of perfume or have food that smells good.

It might be fun for her to help you make the passport book. She could help you think of some things ahead of time that she wants to look for/think about.

I'm not sure what you mean about how things are set up, but Mexico and Norway have rides, China, Canada and France have movies and America has a presentation with movies, music and audioanimtronics. All of the countries have shops and performers at various times.
You might also want to include some pages about Illuminations if you plan to see that since it is presented around WS Lagoon.

I have been told by other DISers that during Christmas (I have not yet been in December) each country in EPCOT has a Santa or one of his helpers that talks about the Christmas traditions of their country. It may be interesting to have you or your daughter take a picture (you can buy a 36 picture throw away camera at Wal-Mart for $5.99 before you get to Disney) of each Santa and then write a few notes about that country’s tradition. I think the other kids at school might be interested in how the other countries traditions differ from the USA's.

When DH and I visited Epcot during the Christmas season, I taped each countries presentation about how they celebrate the holidays and then shared it with my class when I returned. Italy (LaBofana sp?) and China (The Monkey King) have turned out to be two of the favorites.

they loved them!!
I took them to staples and had them bound with vinyl covers. both books=$3.80! I printed each parks pages that we are doing. they had a lot of pages for epcot. they were really excited to get them done and i'm pretty proud of how they turned out. i also found some coloring/activity pages and included these. look under forums--disney for families--printable activities on the DIS.
