My dh's b-day is on Friday and we're going (yippee!). We're AP holders so we're going to opt for the gift card. I signed him up on the site about two weeks ago and no email confirmation, so here are my questions:

1. Where exactly do we go to get this?

2. I hate to waste the precious morning time to stand in line, so what can you suggest for saving time? Maybe we don't try to do it 1st thing in the morning?

3. Will it be a prob that we don't have the print out of the email confirmation?

TIA!

You don't have to stand in the ticket line. You can get his birthday fun card at Guest Services at either park. I rec. DCA as it's usually less crowded. It shouldn't be a problem that you didn't get an email. Just let them know he registered but didn't get the email yet.

I would check to see if there's a line when you enter, if not, then go then. If so, check back later. And you know you don't have to use the card all up on that day, right?

Have fun!

you don't have to sign up online at all, so you don't need the email.

AP holders have reported being able to get their birthday thing at Guest Services or Relations!

We got DBF's fun card at City Hall in DL. NO problems at all, we didn't have any email print out for him either.

City Hall?! Sweet! I'm so glad we can take care of it in there.

Thanks all for answering! :worship:

Just curious--we are NOT AP holders...
Can we still get the b-day card at DCA's guest services?

If so, where is DCA's guest services? :confused3

Is it where the Lost & Found is?

TIA!!

OH! Has anyone ever tried to get their b-day fun card LATE THE NIGHT BEFORE the b-day? (I'm sure they won't let you, but wouldn't that be great to get it late at night the night before, so that you'd have it right away on your b-day? I don't want to waste time in the AM doing it...but I'd like it to start spending it ASAP!) Tee hee!

I don't know if ticket-holders can get the funcard over there.

Yes, at the lost and found area. Looking at DCA, over to the left, outside of the park (unlike what the signage inside DCA says, grr).

Thanks bumbershoot!

Does anyone know if NON AP holders can get the b-day fun card at DCA's guest relations?

TIA!

Options are:
Anyone not holding an current annual pass will get a one day/one park pass only.

Annual passholders can get a gift card worth the price of a one day/one park ticket. There are strict limits like no restaurants and you need to read everything carefully. I am thinking about the over $50 worth of clothing, coffee cups and gifts I can buy. AP can also get a special fastpass but I rather have the certificate and have me some new clothes.

No annual passport means no birthday fun card.

What if you already have a 5 day park hopper??? Can you get the fun card then?

If you have one of the multi day tickets for your vacation that you are using, you can get the gift card then as well.
from the Disney site:

"Annual Passholders or Multi-Day Ticket Holders

If you have purchased a valid Annual Passport or a Multi-Day ticket that you will use on your birthday,
follow the steps above to sign up, then bring your confirmation message and proper valid ID to the Disneyland® Resort Main Entrance ticket booths and you can choose from one of our other exciting birthday gifts."
here's the disney site information page all about it:

Hey BCHolly! I'm thinking you are from BC? lol... my son and dil are there right now, it was his birthday on Sunday, they had the 6 day park hopper tickets so he got the $69. gift card, they were pretty happy to have that extra $$ for their holiday! even though it says on the page you should pre register, It's not essential. Just make sure to bring your id, drivers license and birth certificate with you. You don't have to do it first thing either, they went in the afternoon, just don't leave it till the end of the day...someone missed out on theirs because technically, the park had "closed" 15 min. before they went to get it.

Can somebody verify that when the website says "multi-day tickets" that they also include the city-pass tickets?

I will be visiting in early May---Wife's birthday is during our planned trip. We'll be buying the city pass tickets to see as much of Southern Cal as we can. Would sure like to plan to be in Disney on her birthday if her city pass will count towards the gift certificate. We're not interested in spending an extra 4th day though beyond what the city pass offers, so we'd prefer the gift certificate if it applies.

Thanks for you help...

It should work. The City Pass tickets are just 3-day DL PH.

Where exactly is Guest Relations at DL? Is it at the ticket booths? For some reason whenever other posters mentioned it, I kept envisioning City Hall. And to be clear, the suggestions to use GR at DCA is because it is less crowded than at DL, right?

And is having a DL sufficient proof for my date of birth? Or do you need to have more than one item for proof?

The original wording said that if you had a valid multi day pass you could also get the card instead of a day's pass. has this changed?

DL is fine. It's a gov't issued ID with a picture (which is needed for adults).

There's Guest...Something that is over to the left of the Disneyland gates, to the right of the lockers that are way over to the left of the gates.

There's Guest...Something Else hidden away to the left of the DCA gates with Lost and Found (and an ATM!).

I've heard of AP holders being able to use both (and City Hall, too!!!).

Nunzia, smiley_face2 linked to the disney page that included multi-day ticket holders. I don't think there's any reason to worry.

You read the description right. It is City Hall.

I registered for my birthday the week before my birthday and received my email confirmation a day or so later, although that could have been because they already had my email address in the system since I'm an AP.

A note for non AP holders with multi-day tickets already purchased. You may be able to have Disney refund the cost of the one day one park ticket at the ticket booth on the actual birthday. My brother's in-laws bought a multi-day ticket option, but they're going to have Disney refund the cost of the birthday ticket. They booked it through a travel agency, so that's all I know about.
