Advice for 1st DVC stay!!!!

Tronorail is the Monorail that has been painted up for the movie Tron. It looks like one of the light cycles. If you google tronorail you can see pictures.

Thanks for the info on Tronorail, I am guessing there is just one like this. My boys would probably really enjoy a ride on that.

Thanks again to everyone for all your advice and help. I am driving myself crazy with the anticipation of our first stay as DVC members. I think we are down to 17 days still we leave!!!!:cool1::banana::banana:

We have used We Go Shop on several trips for groceries and I have been very pleased with their service. The stores at the resorts are okay for a few small items, but not for groceries.

You are going to have so much fun! Your boys are such great ages, and what a treat to stay in a 2 bedroom! I was at BLT with my much older kids last May in a 1 bedroom lakeview, it was great fun!
If you are budget conscious, just bring lots of groceries in boxes and coolers for your drive down. We used to freeze orange juice and water, everything kept cold the whole trip. I have used the grocery delivery too, but you do have to plan for it, then wait for delivery, so having everything in your car is nice.
TOWL is fun! Even for the young kids, it's great to see the fireworks and hear the music from a semi quiet secluded location.
Even though it is easy to walk to MK, try the boats somewhere! You can get to the Ft. Wilderness Campground and wander around which is interesting and fun.
If you get refillable mugs, they can be refilled at the mug station by the pool and in the main Contemporary Building at the quick food place. Movies outside, right under the walkway are great too-grab a schedule and see if there is anything you want to see!
Enjoy!

Our first DVC stay is less than 3 weeks away. We will be staying for the first time at our home resort BLT. Any advice, suggestions, etc., would be greatly appreciated.
Take it easy. Don't feel like you need to be going every minute of the day. You'll be back.

Since we can get into the nitty-gritty, there are a couple of more specific things.

First, you are likely going to want more grocery items than you can get in the CR convenience store. To that end, I would suggest making a list of groceries you will need for breakfasts, a couple lunches, and at least one dinner. Since you are driving, you can purchase the non-refrigerated items before you leave and bring them with you.

Anything not brought (especially refrigerated items) can be acquired in a couple ways. You can order from Garden Grocer, We Go, etc and have it delivered to the hotel (they will refrigerate the items until you arrive). Another option (less expensive) would be to visit a super market when you stop for gas/the night. If you stop near a Wal Mart or grocery store, you can buy some refrigerated items while others fill the gas tank. You can even make it a racing game. Split the list between the kids and yourself and meet at the checkout counter. Winner and loser get something (winner a prize and loser a chore).

On a personal note, we really like the Purex 3 in 1 laundry sheets:
http://laundry.about.com/od/productreview1/gr/purexlaundrysheets.htm
They have laundry detergent, softener, and act as a dryer sheet in one compact strip. We buy the refill pack, as it is cheaper, and take a few in a (gallon size) zip lock bag. neat, compact, and easy to use. We then save the rest for our next trip, since they are not liquid.

Good luck and have fun!

Once again, thanks for all the great advice. I love these boards!!!

I just read the thread on likes and dislikes at BLT. I know there is not a basketball court, are there any located at other monorail resorts??

Thanks again everyone!:banana::banana:
