Gosh, I was SO hoping we'd win! I owe my boys a birthday party, AND we're going to Disney this week/weekend for a quick trip!!!

whatever happened to getting back to people no matter what? i didn't think they'd be able to follow through with that when i read it.

Sometimes they do follow up and sometimes they don't. It may be a time factor or even a manpower issue--not sure.

I don't think there's a terribly large amount of people working on the MMC.

Do you think all 1,000 e-mails have gone out already? I was hoping only a "first wave" had gone out.

My kids' birthdays were in December and January, and we couldn't really do big birthdays this year, so when I heard about this contest, I was so hoping I'd have a shot so I could give them a big "official" Disney party.

It's really hard to gauge what they are "looking for" when they read our essays. Are they looking for families with younger kids than mine? (Mine are 12 and 9--maybe that's what killed me in the process.) ...are they looking for casual or new Disney fans? (I am not--I am the local Disney trip planner and resident Disney "expert" around these parts.)

It's really difficult to know what to write in your essays. You try to write from your heart, but you are also trying to write so that the words speak to the people that may be reading your writings.

However, I don't want to sound bitter or jaded because I am SO EXCITED for everyone that is winning! It will be fun to see what is in your box when it arrives.

Make sure you post pictures for us!

Honestly, i think it's a lottery process. it is so scattered and a few people do not have time to read that many essays that probably all sound alike after awhile anyways. all of these contests seem geared to those with really young kids, which is ok cause they really are the ones that love all this. i'm just a little kid in an adult body, lol. my kids are older, high school and college graduate.

Well, I hope it's not a lottery process. The results do appear to be scattered sometimes, and I do agree w/you on the part about all the essays sounding alike after a while.

I hope they aren't gearing their picks towards families w/small kids. Kids of all ages, and even adults, get excited over things like this. Surely, they aren't placing stipulations on the winners. That wouldn't be right, and I think the rules would have specified that if that were the case.

Even though my boys are past preschool age, they still would have gone nuts if we had been picked.

I haven't heard much today in posts from winners. Maybe that wasn't the first wave of winners. Maybe they did notify the winners all in one mailing.

I didn't get my entry turned in until the last minute, so I was holding out hope that they were notifying winners in waves.

Oh well, on to the next contest, I suppose.

I did get an email a few days ago and am psyched!
Not sure what date I will have it or even HOW and WHOM it will include. It MAY be over a crawfish boil in the upcoming weeks!

Hi everyone,

It has been awhile for me, but I have been busy in the crazy world of finance, teenagers, cheerleading, baseball etc etc etc.

I just got back from my second trip to WDW this year for a National Cheerleading competition (my daughter's team came in 2nd!!!! ).

I had completely forgotten about the essays as I have been sooooo busy, but I got a happy email when I returned saying we will be hosting a party.

I also have older kids and a little one (4,11,14,15, and 17). I am so excited, I think I am going to have a celebration party for our cheer squad! Or maybe a pre birthday for my husbands 40th! Or wait, maybe a "I am surviving the mortgage meltdown" party for my staff! Or, well, how about, I love you mom and dad party. Geez, I don't know. We have birthdays monthly from June-Feb, so we are in a wierd timeframe with no birthdays. WAIT, I just realized, my DMIL's birthday is soon and we are taking her to WDW for her FIRST visit ever in November. I got it! She will be thrilled!

Anyway, have a great day everyone, I am still at work getting caught up and I can't wait to go home!
