Hi Vicky! There are a lot of small towns outside Lima : to the north Huaral, Huacho and Barranca are the main ones. And to the south Cañete, Chincha, Pisco and many more. Lima is a huge city...but could you believe Bret's peruvian family lives just blocks from me and his girls go to the same school of my DD8 when they come to Peru? It IS a small world after all!!!!

My mother-in-law is from Tarapoto.

WOW! What a wealth of information . . . I have just stumbled upon this website/thread after and exhaustive google search to see what's going on with 2009 moms panel selection . . . sad to say I am feeling just a bit deflated though, but hey...CONGRATULATIONS to all of you selected for the 2nd round! 2 of my friends received the "thanks but no thanks" e-mail yesterday, but since I did not, I was hoping, ever so hopeful, that maybe I was still being considered! Thus, my google search and board scouring . . . I am so happy however to have found this place and people who share my enthusiasm for Disney!!!! I've spent the better part of this afternoon reading through the 180+ pages here .. . . a hearty hello to the current moms panel members! There is never enough room in there to THANK YOU when I have had a question, so please know how very much appreciated you all are!

After reading through I realized that most people seemed to be notified on the 7th (Ironically, that is the very day we left for Disney on our most recent vacation!)....I hoped perhaps my continuing on to next round letter was buried somewhere in the thousands of e-mails in my inbox during our week at Disney - and alas, I found another thread on another board saying that all 2nd rounders would be contacted by phone if they did not respond to the e-mail . . . so I guess I did not make the cut . . . there is always next year!!

Does anyone know if EVERYONE who was not selected should have received the "thanks" letter welcoming them to the Mickey Moms Club? Just wondering why I wouldn't have gotten it when 2 of my friends who also applied did . . . they have the same ISP as me. ....weird.

Oh well . . .happy thoughts and well wishes to ALL of you who continue on! Wish I were among you . . . . GOOD LUCK!!

Hmm, I had not heard anything about being contacted by phone for round 2, that's the first I have heard of it. The third round will be phone interviews though!

I was a member of the Mickey Moms club last year and I was able to log in successfully into the site. I have no idea what that means!

I assume my ability to log in means nothing more than I applied this year and I have access because of that fact alone.....but it's so much fun to torment myself with the possibilities.

I'm still nesting to pass time and have been working on my trip report. Oh yeah....a little praying here and there too.

I missed the application cut-off last year, so I was not a member of the Mickey Moms' Club for 2008. Today however, I tried to sign-on and did so successfully (with an email address other than the one I used to submit my round 2 answers). Does this mean I'm in? I'm out? or mean nothing at all? The suspense with all of this waiting is rather fun. I hope we don't find out before Friday!

Same thing to me...I wasnt part of the MMC last year and Im on 2nd round this time, but Ive just entered to the MMC site for the first time ever....did any of the 2nd rounders be able to enter it too?? Hope it isnt bad news

Your answers didn't disappoint. Great comic relief. Very reminiscent of your "test" monorail answer during training!

Laura - you must literally be over the moon!!! I was so choked up watching that video. (Thanks Leanne! ) You are living the Dream and are so obviously fully embracing it. Your story is just so inspiring!!!

As for all the 2nd rounders: I just don't know how you are doing it!!! Especially those of you like Diane who are doing this for the 2nd year in a row! I am a ball of nerves just sitting on the sidelines!!!

Here is the blurb that I found via google in my quest for info:
]"Also, there were lots of people concerned last year when some unlucky members of the "no" group were not receiving emails -- they were worried that they were actually part of the "phase 2" group, but hadn't gotten an email.

It was discovered last year that the folks running the application process confirmed that they reached everyone asked to take part in the second round -- that they had, in fact, called or emailed them if they didn't respond pretty quickly to the "phase 2" email.

Hopefully, that tidbit will keep people from being concerned if they don't hear anything."

This was on the passporter boards....and while she's techincally talking about last year, I can only asume that the same would be true for this year....(of course since I haven't actually heard a loud NO yet, I am still clinging to that little sparkle of hope!!)

At any rate, my Photopass CD is (according to UPS) scheduled to arrive tomorrow, so I will be able to complete our video scrapbook, so at least I know I will be getting some disney magic in my mailbox tomorrow!!

What will you celebrate?

So, I was thinking of this theme today when I was driving to work and laughing at all the things I was celebrating after only 3 hours of being awake:

1) All my kids made it out the door to catch the bus before 7am, so I didn't have to drive anyone in the cold frosty morning!

2) My little one woke up in a good mood and cooperated with me so I could get out the door on time for an early meeting.

3) My Pug came in the house when I called so I didn't have to chase him around the yard while my neighbors looked on laughing at me.

4) When I spilled coffee while carrying 10 things to the car this morning, it didn't spill on me, just on the sidewalk!

While I was laughing at myself for being excited about these things, I was then imagining the "What Will You Celebrate" commercial for my life. You know, the super cute red Mickey balloon popping up when the kids got on the bus, or the pug came in the house...it would be pretty funny!
