This may have been posted already as I've been away from the boards for a bit, so forgive me if this is old news. It seems DVC and Disney have a new program called Adventures by Disney. A new option has been added to the selection menu when you call in to make reservations. When I asked the CM about it, she explained that Disney is putting together all-inclusive vacations to places like Paris, London, Hawaii, and Canada. You can check out what's included at this website: http://abd.disney.go.com/abd/en_US/index

Reservations can be made with either cash or points, the same way DCL is.

$6200 for a Hawaii and Oahu trip is a bit rich for my blood. We LOVE the big island of Hawaii, and always add Oahu at the begining and end of each Hawaii trip, but much prefer exploring it on our own, and for a LOT less than that!

Yeah, they seem kinda pricey to me, too. Esp. since meals don't appear to be included all the time.

As for the points, debbie, I'm not sure. The website doesn't list that. At least, not that I saw. You'd probably have to call and ask.

Hi,
I just logged onto the the Adventure by Disney website and called MS to confirm they do take DVC points for these vacations... and they do. For the Italy trip (ie) it would take 497 points and the London/Paris trip is 496 points - that's per adult. If you were to pay cash it would be $3,429 for Italy and $3,519 for London\Paris.

Considering the meals and quality of hotels and some of the interesting side activities planned it seems like an amazing trip but people will need to decide for themselves if it is worth the points.

Adventures By Disney is a nice new option for DVC members. Yes, the costs are high for both cash and points, but I'm sure (from expierience )that they are jamm packed with "magical" touches and are first class all the way. :thumbsup2

For these to be per adult does it inculde the air fare?

I tried to request a brochure but would not let me as live in the UK. I liked the look of the Italy one but the points would be so much if DD12 is included as an adult.

I requested a brochure last week, but I had no idea that you could trade for it. I wouldn't trade points but I wonder if there is a cash discount. My kids are too young but maybe in a few years.

There is information on the DVC members web site for AbD. Look under "What's New." There is DVC point information as well as cash prices for both children and adults. To get the cash price quoted above, I was told at least one person must use points. There is also a link for the AbD site, where you can get more information and request a brochure. I was told they have not mailed the brochures yet, but soon. They started taking reservations 2/1/06.

Like Dizma, we've also had a wonderful AbD experience. My DH and I did a 2005 WY trip with our DGDs last year. They had more fun with other children along and I trusted Disney with everyones safety. AbD exceeded my expectations - it was one of our best trips.

I do think you MAY be able to duplicate the 2006 trips, maybe for less $$s. After looking at the itineraries, IMO, it would be difficult and time consuming to do it. As Dizma said, Disney did many "magical" things for the adults as well as the children.

We had such a good time last year that my DH and I have already book one of the 2006 trips, gotten non refundable air, and I've sent for the renewal of my passport. We don't think the DGDs are quite old enough for the trip we have chosen this year - maybe that will be a reason to repeat it when they are...LOL.
