I absolutely LOVED it! I think it's my favorite of the 5 ABD's I've done. For a long time, the Grand Canyon trip was my favorite, but Greece edged it out. Greece is amazing, it's a fun and interesting itinerary, the Guides were amazing, the food was amazing. The hotels were spectacular. Let me know if you want any more details. You could start reading my Trip Report. Of course, that really means I need to FINISH the darned thing! :)

Thanks so much for the info. I will definitely read your report trip (I saw it after I sent you my first post...sorry...I'm new to this :)). Greece will be my third ABD. I've been on the Italy and Germany trips and absolutely loved both of them. Wanted to go to the Galapagos this year, but the September trip got booked by a tour group and had to find an alternative, so Greece is it. Very much looking forward to it.

May 20th for Adventure Insiders, and May 21st for the general public.

Sayhello

Awesome, thank you!

Is there usually a web page or pdf that's available a couple of days beforehand with the tours and dates?

Please keep in mind that Dreams Unlimited Travel will be offering a booking discount for all trips booked through us.

The discount is taken off the price of the Adventure.

There is no gift card that needs to be used at one location, no waiting until you travel to get your discount. It comes off right at the beginning, meaning you get to use your money your way.

You can see the discounts for 2014 here:

http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/abd/specials.htm

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Not that I know of. :) Generally the announcement/start of booking date is when we first see the schedule for the next year.

Kevin, is this an Early Booking discount (ie, good for a specific period of time) or good for whenever someone books through DU?

Currently, it will be an early booking discount.

The offer may be extended.

I do not have a specific ending date, but it will be available from the first day of booking.

Hello all!

I am wanting to do an ABD trip in 2015. I was hoping to book the adults only Galapagos this year but it just wasn't in the cards. I heard they were possibly changing the itinerary for this trip and wondered if anyone had any insight? I will be traveling solo and it will be my first ABD. Anyone have any tips, tricks or advice on booking, what trips I should look into, etc?

This next week is going to go by so slow!

Thanks everyone!

Hello, leholcomb! The only thing we've heard so far is that there will be a combined Galapagos/Amazon trip. Whether it is in addition to the current Galapagos trip, or an update to the current trip, we' haven't been told. We should know May 20th. Since you haven't taken an ABD yet, you'll be able to book starting May 21st.

That would be amazing. As an Environmental/Conservation Biologist, that trip would make a couple of my dreams come true!

Has anyone taken trips with other tour companies? How do they compare to ABD? What makes the ABD experience a step above the rest? As a single working individual, I am trying to justify the cost somehow. lol.

This sounds really interesting, can't wait to see the details. Our interest is in the adults only Galapagos trip also, will see what is offered.

Almost there!

Okay, I just saw the dates. I am looking at the August 2015 Adults Only trip. The itinerary doesn't seem too much different than before. Can anyone shed some light on the differences?

Also, I got my quote from Dreams Unlimited and it is $2335 more than what the rack rate is listed as on the ABD website. Am I missing something?

Sorry, I'm new to this.

I assume you're talking about the Amazon/Galapagos trip? I haven't had a chance to compare the itineraries yet; I'll take a look and see if I can tell you.

I'd suggest you email kevin@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com with any questions you have about your DU quote. He's great about answering any questions you have.

ETA: Actually, make sure you're looking at this page for the new Amazon/Galapagos itinerary:

http://www.adventuresbydisney.com/central-south-america/amazon-galapagos-tours/

If you go through the normal menu, that's still the old itinerary.

For some reason, there's no rates/dates listed for the new trip yet. But it's a 12 day/11 night trip vs the old one which is a 9 day/8 night trip, so it's definitely going to be more expensive!

I'm waiting for Scotland. I just put my deposit down for the DCL Iceland cruise and am hoping that 1) the dates work with my cruise for the Scotland ABD and 2) I'm not priced out.

This is our situation exactly. Good luck!

Doesn't look like the ABD Scotland dates work for a pre- or post-cruise trip, unfortunately. Of course, the prices are very high too, so I'm not sure we could do it even if the dates worked.

Thanks! Yes I didn't see the Amazon/Galapagos listed so thought they may have just changed the itinerary for Ecuador/Galapagos. Not sure if I could swing that long of a trip with my work schedule.... would love to see the dates listed.

The Ecuador/Galapagos trip looks the same. I just had the Amazon/Galapagos trip quoted for us (family of 3) and it's $22647, about $7600 pp. :0 it looks very interesting though sailing on a riverboat. What I like about the trip is, you stay on land in the Galapagos and take day excursions on a boat. The water could be bumpy on a ship so that's one good plus for those who get sea sick. Not very comfortable trying to sleep at night.

OK, so I was curious about this trip, so I called ABD. The lovely Vacationista gave me all the dates and the opening rate for the Amazon/Galapagos trip (sorry, I forgot to ask about kids' prices!). I think I'm going to pass on this trip for now (the only Adults Only is not until January, 2016!) but it does look cool! :thumbsup2
