Can anyone provide me with info on the Adventurers Club? Is this kid friendly for 11-15 year olds, or only for adults? Is this alot of fun? What's the cost?

I would say adults only, however, my husband would say ok for teens... sooo.. not really sure I guess. It is a bar and the "fun" that goes on is sometimes R rated. It is a lot of fun, there are a couple of shows that go on and are funny.. Take a look at wdwig.com and see what they say - I'm sure there are specific reviews out there that may help you decide if it is appropriate for your kids.

There is no charge, other than the charge to get into pleasure island if you don't have an admission ticket that includes pleasure island.

i think the earlier shows would be ok for teens, but i must warn you, when you bring kids to the shows here they often become the center of attention in a way your kids may not like.

when i was there in december one couple brought their daughter who looked to be around 10-11. this was at a show that was around 10 pm. they were the focus of almost the entire show. samantha sterling (one of the characters) kept going on and on about how their daughter would be able to tell her friends at show and tell all about her experience at a bar meeting drunk people. when it was learned that the couple met at bible camp she made a comment like: "oh, is that where they teach you to bring your children to bars?"

it was all in good fun, and believe me, it was pretty damn funny to the rest of us there, but if i were the kid i would have been embarrassed. :o

as swclark mentioned, the comedy (especially in the later shows) can get a little raunchy. as a teenager or tween i would have been embarrassed to be heraing sex jokes with my parents, but maybe that kind of thing doesn't bother everyone.

This is a widely-debated topic on these boards. Personally, I think that if you do not take your kids to bars at home, then you wouldn't want to do that at WDW either.

Because it is a bar, the entertainment is geared in an adult direction. Like caitycaity mentioned, I have seen parents & their kids picked on more often than not. In addition, there are usually other adults who do not appreciate the presence of kids and don't mind letting their attitude show.

I don't see any harm in casually strolling through or spending a few minutes; the decor is fun to look at, but I wouldn't plan to spend much time there. However, would this be worth the price of admission to PI ?? Probably not.

Yes, the Adventurer's club is alot of fun...actually that is an understatement. There is always something going on. If you arrive during a performance, depending on where it is being held, you can walk right in, or wait in the Main Salon downstairs (all of the fun is downstairs). If you wait in the Salon, there is usually characters milling about. A list of show times can be seen next to the main rooms, so just walk around, and you should have a good idea when the next show will start.

As for bringing kids along...I've only been there twice, and both times children were present (many times the children were younger than the 11-15 range you provided). There is alot of adult humor, and most of the time the actors are able to get the point of the joke across without being blunt. The jist of the punchline is usually so well hidden to children that when the room erupts in laughter, the kids have the "why the heck are they laughing" look. A few times, they suggested the kid ask the parents the meaning of the joke on the "long ride home." The actors are very well-behaved when it comes to dealing with having children in the room, but unfortunately, the same can't always be said for the guests (especially those that always have a drink or two in their hands).

I'm not one for recommending children going to bars, but I'll suggest this: If you want to take your children to the Adventurer's Club, do so for the early shows.

We took our DD12 in June. She loved it, can't wait to go back. One of the actors said something about "your first time in a bar", which DD thought was funny. I, however, am having second thoughts about taking her back again. Not because it was that raunchy, but because she spilled a full cup of hot chocolate and whipped cream all over the table and me. It was 10pm, so we just left. She was trying to eat the whipped cream with the two swizzle sticks they gave her, and managed to dump the whole thing. An accident, but embarrassing. Maybe we'll go back when she's older. Diana
