After all that I've heard, I'm DYING to go here. But I'm a solo - what do you all think? Will I enjoy it (I'm somewhat outgoing)? Will I be ignored by the "Adventurers"?

Editted to say "only a month and a day! hooray!!"

You will not be disappointed!!! Go to The Adventurers Club! You will have fun, the adventurers will not ignore you, I think this is a place that you can have fun here even as a single!!

Hi
It looks like you are going during Mousefest. I know there are a couple of meets at the Adventure Club. I think one night is on Nov 30th. You might want to check out mousefest.org for more info. Also Tagrel com is having a meet. So if you feel you want to be around other Disney enthusiasts(nuts), you might want to look it up.

Have fun!!!

I'm going solo too in Nov 7-14 and still wondering if i should go im outgoing buta bit nervous and can be shy around strangers depending on the situation

Can kids go in the evening to Adventurer Club?? Do you have to pay a separate cover at the door??

Thanks,

I don't know about kids. I think I would use Disney baby sitting service - or if they are under 12 - one of the clubs - Nevertheland is very nice. (it is at the Polyn).

Solo are fine.

I have in there 3 times and I have yet to see the thing......

we get to talking and forget to get in line and by the time the doors are open I have to go feed Spicey.... he gets a last walk and supper treat at around 8:00pm. :rotfl2:

Before i was married and had kids going to the Adventures Club even by myself was a favorite thing to do at WDW. You wont feel out of place.

I just got back from my latest solo trip on Sunday, and I was at the club
a lot last week. It's still fun as a solo. Just go see all the shows, and you
will have fun. :)

Highly doubtful you’d be ignored. In fact that could bring about extra attention if the adventurers are feeling in the mood for mischief. I have to say that The Adventurers’ Club is one of my favorite places to go for a night out in PI.

Bum…Diddy…Bum-Di-Bum-Bum-Bum-Bum

Marching along we’re Adventurers

Singing the song of Adventurers

Up or Down

North, South, East or West

An Adventurers life is best!

KUNGALOOSH!!!

I've gone solo and had a good time. Definatly go! As far as kids going, I would personally keep them at the resort unless you approve of taking them to a public bar (Pleasure Island), exposing them to drunk people and adult language. I know if you are in Adventurers Club sitting by me, they will hear a lot about male anatomy and perhaps a few bars of "Bang Away Lulu".

I'll be there Nov 13-16, planning to hit the Adventurer's Club either Sun or Mon night. It's definitely worth stopping by for a laugh.

Thanks for all of your replies. I think I'll have to squeeze it in. hmmm ... mousefest on the 30th, eh? Could be a possibility :cool1:

Of everything I did solo, Adventurer's Club was the place I felt the most alone. I won't go solo again.

Disney allows children in the bars (see old Walt turning over in his grave!), although I don't think they can sit at the bar or get served. Pleasure Island is definately an adult atmosphere, though.

This taking the kids to the bar thing gets very heated. My personal opinion is that children don't belong in bars, so I wouldn't take mine at home or at WDW. But if you're all gung-ho to do it, go for it.

Hmmm...I would think that going solo would be the way to do it best! We had gone with friends, and often someone in the group 'doesn't get it' and wants to leave. Even DH can be a bit uncomfortable with it. With AC there is so much to look at and see if you are having a discussion with a friend you can miss it! I think the best way to enjoy it is to get a drink, sit down, and observe the show happening around you. It might not happen right away, but it will happen!

As for kids in there, IMHO I wouldn't bring kids to PI at all but there are many others who feel differently...

I'm getting excited about this :) I guess I'm really not afraid to be alone since I can definitely see myself sidling up to the bar and talking to the bartender. So away I will go. I'll just have to post any fun happenings in a trip report. And I have to learn about this Kungaloosh thing!

When you say kids do you mean anyone under 21? We go to WDW 2-3 a year every year (since joining DVC in 98). I have always wanted to go to AC and CW and seriously thought about going in Nov. My neighbor (also a DVCer) who is very conservative said she thought it would be ok to take them (they are 18 & 15). I know this is always a hot topic but the reason I'm asking you guys is because you have been there and you seem conservative. We wouldn't be staying late maybe 10ish or 11:00, your opinions please.

TIA,
Alice

Hi

I am probably not the best person to ask about this...I don't have kids but I have been to PI and AC many times. I personally think 15 is too young for a bar setting. Here in Canada the legal age is 19 so I don't have as much concern about the 18 year old. I personally feel uncomfortable when underage kids are in a bar, I don't feel comfortable drinking around these young folks!

I'm not sure if the humour would be appreciated by the younger scene as well.

But that is me and I do know that there are many on the DIS boards and beyond that disagree. I personally don't think PI is a place for kids...

Thanks Inga, I appreciate your response. I guess the world won't come to an end if I wait a few more years to go.

I think a mature 15yo would be fine and definitely the 18yo.....but no one could ever accuse me of being conservative :rotfl2:

My dh and I brought our youngest dd last December....she was 9mo. I carried her in a baby sling and got heckled about carrying my baby in my curtains from AKL! LOL She was asleep the whole time. Admittedly it would have been more fun without her....but she was too young to leave with my parents at bedtime and young enough to be portable.
