We were at MK yesterday with minimal crowds, etc able to do all the rides. I think Adventureland could use something... Not sure even what. The old tiki show is SO so bad (I know it is a classic) and the jungle cruise is just ok, Swiss family tree house I love... But has anyone under the age of 35 even heard of the movie? I would love to see them remake the movie with a modern touch. Imagine teens stranded with no screens..lol.

Am I the only one tht thinks this area of the park is lacking something? I LOVE mk, I really do.. But that area seems like it could be so much better!

Nope, Adventureland is just find the way it is... Nothing wrong with the Tiki Room, it's classic... Robinson Tree House, for me that can go.... If you replace current attraction with new it would never be the same... Lets leave Lands as they are!

Love your idea about a Swiss Family Robinson re-boot. Modernize it, could still have the pirates. . .they definitely still exist.

It needs Indiana Jones ride like DL has in its Adventureland. Everything else is fine the way it is.

I love Adventureland. It's my favorite MK area to just hang around in. The theming and landscaping are awesome. But, I do think that it could use something more in the attractions department.

I have hoped for years that the old Adventureland Terrace restaurant would reopen as a TS. But now it is a meet and greet.

I'm under 35 and know the movie.

Adventureland is fine the way it is.

Didn't The Swiss Family Robinson come out more than 35 years ago?

Anyhow, you don't have to have seen the movie to enjoy the treehouse. I've never seen the movie, and the treehouse is one of my favorites.

If I was going to tinker with Adventureland, I think I'd take out the Aladdin spinner. It's a fun ride, but it really clogs up traffic, and it spoils well-planned the beauty of Sunshine Plaza. I'd move it over into Fantasyland somewhere with the other fairy-tale stuff.

Also, I'd probably do a major overhaul of Pirates of the Caribbean. It's been tinkered with here, had stuff added there, all hodgepodge until it's lost its cohesiveness. And the mixture of old and new AA figures is obvious and takes away from the illusion. I'd strip it back to the bones and remake it in the same spirit. Maybe with some different scenes. All new AA's, even if they have the same faces as the old ones.

I don't like all the new stuff in pirates either.

Love that idea!

I also agree about Tiki room, it can go. There is really nothing there i LOVE except Pirates.

I wish they could bring in the Adventurer's Club that used to be in Pleasure Island. It was one of my FAVORITE attractions at WDW. Don't know how they could do it with all the crowds, but I sure loved the decor and the quirky entertainment. Kungaloosh!:cool1:

I see what you are saying about Aladdin, but they would never move it. It's a similar Dumbo ride with less traffic! And I completely agree that they need a major Pirates renovation. The movies are so popular, but the ride is SO outdated!

The biggest con of MK compared to DL, to DW and I, is the lack of Indiana Jones. That ride would be the perfect addition to Adventure Land and Magic Kingdom as a whole, imho.
:woohoo:

I'd rather them, put the Indy ride where the Indy show is in HS...
And add a brand new to adventure land

Indy is a great ride, but if you ask some of the people on a different DL forum, they will have some not so great words to say about it! :lmao

really? I can't imagine! It's in my top two rides. :)

I am also kind of surprised at the PotC comments here, but I've only ridden the MK one once and it was noticeably shorter than the DL one, which I consider a classic that should not be tampered with any further. Also PotC is not in Adventureland in DL. It's in New Orleans Square! So that threw me as well.

I think the main problem is that it has fallen into such disrepair. But, it is closed (or at least it was when we were there), so hopefully it has good things in it's future!

I also love DL's PotC and would never, ever want to change it. What I've heard about WDW's version makes me not want to ride it :eek

I don't think the Indiana Jones attraction from DL would work well in WDW's Adventureland because it is too similar to Dinosaur over in Animal Kingdom. Disney does have some repeat attractions though (Carpets, Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, and the flying dinos in Animal Kingdom).

An Indiana Jones attraction similar to the Disneyland Paris version would be cool, since Magic Kingdom does not have any inverted coasters, but with the upcoming mine train coaster in Fantasyland, I doubt there will be a new coaster anytime soon. I also don't know if the space is there or the landscaping to put a large attraction in like that.

Personally, I like Adventureland the way it is as far as food and attractions go. I would be okay with something relating to the Lone Ranger eventually going in somewhere in Frontierland though!
