Given the (non) capabilities of the search function, I may be asking a much discussed topic here. I read recently someone writing in passing that there are some advantages to buying several small contracts when addiing on. I'd be interested to know more about this line of thought.

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Multiple smaller contracts (same UY, so that there are no "transfer" issues) give you the flexibility to buy as you can afford it, preferably saving for your purchases, rather than financing (25-point minimum for add-ons through Disney; 50-point minimum if you finance, I think).

Then, smaller contracts are easier to sell, and fetch higher prices per point, if you reach a time of life where you need less points. You can sell off part of your investment, and just keep what you need.

easier to get rid of - if necessary.

like to go to different places - could not afford 150 or 160 points - but 50 at BWV - allows a studio (most seasons) for 5 nights.

60 at VWL allows a studio for 5 nights in Sept, Oct, most of Nov and Dec 1-14.

you need to see what works the best for you.

after you a member - you can add on 35 points if that works best for you.

We purchased a 200pt contract at BWV in 98. Since then would like to have sold 100 of those points and purchased a 100pt contract at VB or AKV, but we cannot split the contract. It has to be sold as a whole. Had we purchased two 100pt contracts at BWV we could sell one and still have the other at BWV. Live and learn.
