I am planning a June 2016 trip. I have 14 days booked at the FW. I have not booked or got tickets or anything else yet. It will be wife, me and 2 kids. Thinking of getting an annual pass for me so that I can get the AP discounts. Questions, will I be able to use it on my FW reservation and get a discount ? I believe the individual who helped me said that if they have that discount I could still get it. I looked on line and in the past it has been 30%. That would be almost be a $600 savings. Also, what other discounts to I get and would it be worth it. Should note that we would otherwise be getting 10 day hopper passes.

Just in the planning stage and all advice is welcomed

Thanks, John

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but, if you are getting the AP mainly for the 'perks' they are very few! We have never had any discounts for the campsites with our AP's. FW campsite discounts are mostly non existent anymore. There used to be a AAA discount that would give 15%, but that is now a thing of the past.

There are a few restaurants that give 10% discount with the AP, also a few of the larger stores, discounted tours (much less than a few years ago). There are a few other smaller perks, but nothing we use.

We plan to go twice (14 nights each) in our 'AP year' so it was cheaper for us to get the AP - we didn't get them for the 'nearly' non existent perks.

Only you can decide which ticket is the best $$ value for your plans! :goodvibes

Like the PP mentioned, the "discount" we purchased our APs for were the tickets -- we're going 5x's in 1 year. The HOTEL discounts can be really good -- but nothing at the campsites. We also plan to use Tables in Wonderland, which you can buy if you are an AP holder (or DVC Member or FL Resident). We'll be saving a lot of $ using that as well.
