Is this worth getting? How much of a discount do you get on Magic Your Way packages and such? Does it work exactly like a normal credit card? How do I know what I've 'earned' toward Disney trips? I want it for trips only, not merchandise. Thanks!

You get one point for every $100 you spend. One point is equal to $1. You get them transferred to a Rewards card which you can use toward your hotel, merchandise, tickets...whatever. There was a code that came out for Disney card holders that saved me over $250 on my vacation. It is worth getting!!

You get a 10% (I think its 10%) discount when you buy stuff at Downtown Disney. I even got the discount at Bippity Boppity Boutique.

There is also a charactor greeting at Innovations in EPCOT where you get a free picture with the characters. It's only for Disney Visa holders.

I got the card for the special 6 months no interest on WDW vacations. For that alone I thought it was worth it. I then started using it for everyday items and was shocked at the number of dollars I ended up with before our trip. I think it's worth it.

Yes, it's a normal credit card. As far as the MYW packages, they give you 0% interest for 6 months when you charge it to the card.

I'm using it exclusively now, building rewards dollars as much as I can. Wish I could pay the mortgage with it!

Be very careful to check your bill. They raised my APR from 10% to 20% in a matter of months for no apparent reason. When I asked, they couldn't give me a difinitive answer. I'd never been late, or never failed to pay more than the minimum.

I loved the perks, but I was paying too much in interest, so I had to cancel.

It is a great card but like all credit if you need to use it for things you can't afford regularly you can get into trouble. We use it to pay everything we can so i only have to write out one check amonth and we pay it off in full every month. We go to Disney for a couple of days each month and it generally pays for all our counter service meals and I am building up points to cover more on our November trip when we will be doing more sit down dining.

LOVE MY DISNEY VISA!!! We saved $750.00 off the last trip and we are saving $300.00 off my next trip in 3 weeks. Plus the other little benefits named above, we had the privlege to book free pkg dining first. :thumbsup2

You can also get 20% off the different backstage tours -- We're doing the Backstage Magic tour in October, and it usually runs about $200 per person, so 20% off is quite a bit for the tour (and it was the deciding factor in allowing us to take the tour!). You just have to be sure to ask when you book it, because if you don't ask, they won't tell you the discount is available. :thumbsup2

Love my Disney visa!

We charge everything and pay off the whole thing every month so we accumulate alot of rewards points! Last year we had enough to pay for 2 nights GVC at Poly added onto our OKW 4 nights (GVC @poly $695/night during xmas). We now have over $400 now for our xmas 06 trip and will definitely have enough to pay for DDP for 3 of us for 5 nights. Its definitely worth it if you go to disney as much as we do(we have been dvc members since 1994). The discounts are a bonus. I have one rewards card set-up for DS to use as he wishes when we go for xmas. Much easier than handling money-it works as a debt card.
