Anyone heard or used either of these rental car companies from Orlando Airport? Pricing is significantly cheaper than the main rental car companies. Wondering what the catch really is.

Al of these are off site. You have to take a free shuttle to get to them. I have used Advantage and they were ok. Used EZ once and never again!

i used EZ a year and a half ago and they are at the airport, no shuttle needed, firefly is on site as well. I took pictures of all of the dents in the minivan and wrote them all down. As most companies they do charge for more than one driver so just be aware of that. I was hesitant to use them because I have heard horror stories online, but they were so much cheaper I crossed my fingers and had no issues. I will say they don't clean the vehicles thoroughly as our mini van had peanut butter all over the back seats and walls. I have had friends use them as well and none of us had any issues. Just go in with the expectation that #1 they will try to upsell you to a higher car class and then get you to add everything from SunPass to Navi units onto your rental. So just be prepared to say No thanks several times at the counter, but that is the case with almost all car companies.

I had a really good price for a minivan with Fox but cancelled it after reading all the reviews. I couldn't really find anything positive that was posted but most of the bad reviews all mentioned 'hidden' charges. Things that they had thought were included that they ended up paying a lot extra for. Now some of this will be user error but there were just too many to feel confident with them.

We have rented with Payless rental which is off-site and they were fine, other than not having the compact we booked, tried to up-sell us and when we refused left us with a 2 door mustang for 4 of us! I wasn't overly thrilled but the kids loved it!

Firefly is a budget subsidiary of Hertz now. Older cars with higher milage, no frills , no frequent flyer miles credit or fancy stuff, and no Hertz #1 Club or Gold access. Have had a few clients use them and they've been satisfied.

Advantage used to be the local Hertz budget arm, but got spun off when Hertz purchased Dollar and Thrifty. Adv is off site now with no Hertz connection. so I no longer use them. The others mentioned above get pretty bad reviews so I won't use them either.

EZ and Payless reserve the right not to rent to you if you do not have collision coverage on a car back at home and you decline their collision coverage.

Payless is on the way to Disney. Their shuttle (which others can follow) takes the north airport exit and left at the first light (Frontage Rd.) and their office is just a little way down, just about where a Beach Line (528) tollbooth that you will be passing freely to the side of is located. When leaving their lot for Disney or Universal, take a right instead of their suggested left. You will get on 528 west at its next interchange less than a mile away. (For Port Canaveral take a left out of their lot.)

One advantage of nationwide companies and agencies is that, if a dispute occurred and push came to shove, the final shove can be attempted at any location where the company does business which might even be your home town.

EZ changes car classifications if it's busy. So A car that this week is a compact might be a full-size next week when they're busy In addition they refused to except credit card insurance. They want your personal insurance and they will file a claim against that regardless of the fact that my credit card has primary insurance. I walked away
