I have been using Advantage on my dogs now for over 7yrs..and the last 3yrs at my current residence which has only tile floors...

I am noticing that even after dosing my dogs, the fleas are not going away...I think they are becoming immune...

Has anyone had this issue?

Yep. It doesn't seem to work like they say. We never had to use it before until we moved to Florida but the kitties got fleas down here. Bought Advantage, they've had 4 doses now and they still have fleas. I was always under the impression it was a miracle cure but it doesn't seem to work at all.

My vet told me that Frontline wasn't working as well in our area (middle TN), so I do know it is possible for resistance to happen. He recommended Comfortis. I am using up my supply of Frontlne, but then I may switch.

I never had a flea issue until we moved south. My vet recommended Comfortis and it was a life saver! He also told me that fleas are becoming more resistant to Advantix and Frontline.

Seriously, get the Comfortis - it's a tad pricey, but worth every penny.

Do they make that for cats do you know?

Yikes I hope not up here! It's the only one that was working for us. Our vet told us too that Frontline was not as effective around here any more. So I researched different ones online and went with Advantage. It has worked perfectly on the cats for us. It even kills ticks even though it doesn't claim to.

We just found out my roomates dog has fleas. We bombed to house today. The vet told her frontline is not strong enough for Florida. He is on a new medicine but i dont know what it is.

They do make it for cats but it's a little different from the dog version. The dog version is a pill the dog takes. The cat version is a liquid you put on the back of their neck. It's called Assurity or something but it is Comfortis. It causes a huge waxy area on the cats fur and causes hair loss(it does grow back) but it works waaayyy better than the revolution I had used just 3 weeks before.
