Hi,

We are travelling out to the US on Xmas Eve :cool1:

Staying at OKW from 1st Jan. We had the photopass last year and loved the pics we got from that so we are looking to buy the memory maker this year.

My question is, when should we buy it? Is there a certain number of days you get to use it? I don't want to get out there and find out my number of days are up :confused3

Do you have to collect the pass like with photopass? If so this probably answers the above.

I am very confused :rotfl2:

you need to buy it at least 3 days in advance to get it at the discounted price of $149

you stay onsite, so you'll have magic bands

you'll use the magic bands to scan with photographers.
At attractions, your MBs will be remotely scanned and the pictures will be automatically linked to your photopass account (I would still write the photo number down, just in case)

Your pictures are valid for 45 days, then expire.

your memory maker is a credit linked to your MDX account. When you're ready to download pictures, you'll need to assign that credit to a party member.
It starts when you first download a photograph and lasts for 30 days during which time you can continue taking pictures.

so, to make it simple, here's a timeline

- today (for example) you purchase Memory Maker
- Jan 1st you take your first picture
- Jan 10th (for example) you download your first picuture
- Feb 9th you can no longer add pictures to your memory maker, it has expired (30 days from first download)
- Feb 14th your first picture has expired (if you haven't downloaded it yet, it's lost)

OK.

So basically you can buy it when you like - Its not activated until you use it for the first time.

Just trying to get my head around it - I was fine with the photopass they sent a voucher, you picked it up.

This has rather flummoxed me :rotfl:

Correct but to get the discounted price you need to buy at least three days in advance of your first photo.

We used it this month. Its great!!
You get posted out the credit card sized Memory Maker pass, which you can use rather than magic bands if you like (no idea why you would :) )

The purchase linked automatically to my MDE account and worked flawlessly. Kind of clever how it adds your ride photos without you having to do anything!

We are definitely going to book this.

The pics from last year were amazing so hoping for some more fab pics now our Son can get more involved with the pics with the characters - Our girls love it but will be totally different this time :cool1:
