They often say that DVC isn't good for people who can't plan their vacations well in advance. Boy, I sure don't have that problem. I know for sure what I want to do for 2006 and 2007. (My trips for 2006 are all reserved, except for a brief VB stay for which I need to wait for the seven-month window to open.) Furthermore, I talked to a friend today about a possible trip for 2008.

Planning is fun, I think. I feel like I've always got something to look forward to.

I always have to have my next trip to WDW planned (tentative dates in my mind, if not reserved) before I leave to come home. I'll bet I'm not alone. Whe else?

I am that way as well. I always have one on the backburner! :rotfl:
DS is messing with me though--I am concerned that he will need to do summerschool and that is going to kill my plans! To book for July or wait until June to book in August?

The only reason we don't have our November trip booked yet is because we are waiting for a final head count from friends/relatives. We like to plan well in advance as it gives us something to look forward to :goodvibes

Ha, I know my dates and where I want to stay all the way through 2009. :)

I usually have trips planned a full 12-18 months out but actually have generally planning for a least a year beyond that and sometimes more. I like to do it and it lessens the letdown after one trip if you already have one on the back burner.

we start booking our dec '06 next week while we're in disney.

this past weekend we invited my entire family to go down in sept 07. that gives them 9 months to make up their minds if they are coming or not.

i have to have at least one trip in planning stage or i go nuts.

This is what I love about these boards - I can feel normal :rotfl2: - my extended family thinks I'm nuts planning out the next 3 years of vacations! Glad to see I'm not alone....I've got to show this to my wife!!

Our upcoming May 06 BCV stay was reserved by cell phone while on the Monorail back in October...

Isn't each trip just a more detailed planning exercise to determine what MUST be tried again in the future ?

We use the referral postcards as teasers on the fridge. As soon as points are booked we put the postcard up of the resort to which we will be going. We joined in Nov 2004 and I am proud to say our fridge has never been 'naked' of a resort postcard (or two !!)

I think we have a 'planning' conversation at least every few days....
