Advance Planning ... a little advice...

Hi there

looking for a little advice, i know this is UK planning, and we are southern ireland so i figured it was close enough

i thought i had settled on my plan of action for a special holiday for my husbands 40th, however, i now have the idea of a Disney Cruise firmly stuck in my head...

I had been planning on 1 week at a Universal Resort, followed by 1 week at a Disney Moderate Resort, i am now thiking 1 week Universal 1 week Cruise 1 Week Disney Resort - do you think this is doable or should i be looking at another order? ( i mean the cruise might only be 5 days im not sure im only starting to look into it now)

It would mean taking my DD who will be 9 out of school as we are planning October time when the weather is a little easier for us to manage.

It is going to be the last Disney esque holiday for a while as we want to start going more flung a field such as the Orient and Australia etc ...

any help planning would be welcomed or any adivce. Do you think a 9 year old would enjoy the cruise?

having done this iteration of holidays several times (and just about to embark on another in 3 weeks), I would do in this order:

Disney, Cruise, Universal.

The reason being that we seem to rush around far more at Disney than we do anywhere else. If you plan to stay onsite at Universal, with Unlimited Express, then you will probably not even need a full week (we usually find 3 or 4 nights is enough).

My son has loved the cruises at each and ever age, from 5 up to the age he is now (13).

We've done this itinerary and tried various options and have found our favourite to be, Universal, cruise, Disney. We love the cruise in the middle regardless of how long we spend on the ship as we can chill especially on Castaway Cay. We prefer to leave Disney until last as we look forward to it so much! We normally do a mixture of hitting the parks and relaxing at the resort so it works perfectly. We usually only spend a maximum of three nights at Universal so tend to be in the parks for the whole time so are ready to relax on the cruise.

i agree with the pp, Universal,cruise,Disney. We have done Universal/Disney in various orders, and have found doing Universal first to be the best option.Also IMO 3/4 days is plenty because firstly,that time of year won't be majorly busy, and also you'll have express passes,so no queuing.Look at Club Level at Universal as the free breakfast buffet, evening hot and cold buffet,free soft drinks and alcohol (wine beer) plus late night snacks saves you a lot of money.
You'll be able to take advantage of the Disney transfer from the cruise to your Disney Resort and then the Magical Express to the airport.Also I always say "save the best till last".

Thanks for the replies I think 6 nights universal, 5 to 7 day cruise, then 7 nights disney will work for us too

I know people were suggesting maybe only 3 or 4 nights universal but my hubby and brother who is travelling to be my hubby's coaster junkie counter part will want to do the HNH so myself and the little lady can chill at the hotel then and we would like to do Sea World and Busche gardens too that would be another day each so I tink the week will work besides I like a little pool time here and there too
