Whats the likelyhood of being able to book away from your home resort in the seven month time frame?

I'm a member, however haven't been on my first vacation yet, I'm looking to book OKW for May 2007.

Would I be better staying a SSR (home resort) and booking at eleven months instead.

Many members book their home resort at 11 months (to be sure they have a place to stay) and then switch at 7 months (assuming there is availability. If not, they just stay at their home resort or use the waitlist and hope for good luck).

Some months are easier to book at 7 months than others. Ease of booking at 7 months really depends on when you want to travel and what resort you want.

Since you want OKW in May, you are not going to have a problem booking at 7 months. May is one of the easier months to get DVC accomodations at WDW, and OKW is one of the larger resorts.

Had you said you wanted a standard view studio at the BWV anytime in October through December (which are very limited in muber and BWV owners generally book them at 11 months), I would have told you it will be a challenge (not likely to happen).
