Adults ordering off child's menu

Can adults order off the kids menu at table-service meals? There are sometimes when the adult portions are just too big and sometimes I am just picky and like the stuff that is offered for the kids. Are you allowed to do this if you are paying OOP?

You sure can. My DDIL had done it a number of times and has never had a problem. She is not a big eater and finds the children's portions much more to her liking.

The menus typically indicate whether it is not permitted. Sometimes, for example, it says, "for our guests 9 years old and younger". In those cases, it is up to the server whether to extend an exception for you. Generally, if you ask nicely, then you'll get a positive result. Be sure to make up for that generosity with some generosity of your own: An adult should pay at least $3.50-$4.00 gratuity for a sit-down meal at WDW. 15% of a child meal at TS is typically closer to $1.50, so put an extra $2 or $3 on the table.

At Wolfgang Puck we asked if my 10 year old son-an "adult" in Disney's eyes and the meal plan could order from the kids menu if he wanted and the server said "Sure, anyone can order from the kids menu."

Only 1 time ever have I seen a CM at Disney not allow an order off the kids menu. It was at Yachtsman several years ago and it was a teenage boy. The server was telling the family that the kids menu was only for 9 and under.

We go every year and eat dinner every night we are there and you KNOW how close some of those tables are.... I have never heard/seen someone else have an issue with it.
