Questions of worth are always tricky because what may be worth it to me, may not be at all worth it to you. In my opinion any time away from the kids no matter how horrible the location is totally worth it. We went last year to WDW on an adults only trip in July, for 3 nights. IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT. It was hot. I don't know how it compares to August, but it was outrageously hot when we were there. AND HUMID. Everyday it felt like it was just about to rain the entire day, but it NEVER rained. It was like walking through a sauna. The heat didn't bother us though because we weren't rushing to be anywhere, and there weren't any kids whining about the heat. We went slow. Ate and drank a lot (especially adult beverages), and just enjoyed our time with each other. We are going back next week to do the same thing we loved it so much. In fact we loved it so so so much that we added on points so we can do it every year!!!!
So here are some things for you to think about, for your particular situation:
1. Will getting the 2 bedroom require you to take points away that are needed for your next family vacation or do you have points to spare. Are you willing to change your next vacation's accommodations to accommodate using the extra points for a 1 bedroom over a studio for this trip. Will you start a vicious borrowing cycle?
2. Do you need to buy park tickets or do you have annual passes? Do you have the money for park tickets if needed?
3. How long are your airline tickets for? Will you lose them if not used?
4. If cost is at all an issue for you, would going to a resort/hotel/camping someplace closer to home provide you the same time away from the kids but at a more affordable cost(both points and $$ cost).
As I said before, any adult only trip anywhere would be worth it to me, but I really really loved our adults only Disney trip last July. Only 6 more sleeps until we do it again!!!!!
