Adults-Only meal? Which restaurant?

I'm headed to WDW in September with my mom, sister, and sister's BFF... I can hardly wait, as this will be my first ever "adults only" trip!

We're staying offsite so we will not be on the DDP. Keeping prices in mind, what's a great restaurant for the 4 of us to have lunch or dinner? We're thinking we'll grab counter service for most of our meals, but would like to have a nice sit-down meal (and by "nice", I just mean a TS place where we can sit and take our time eating... nothing fancy or too expensive)

Thanks!

There are so many good TS places. Can you narrow it down? Do you want to eat in a park or at a resort? Is DTD included in your options?

Hmmmm...

I'd have to say we'd want our TS meal to be at one of the parks. We're only doing 3-day passes, so I assume we want to make the most out of our tickets and not take the time traveling to a resort.

As for which park, the only one I'd count out would be Animal Kingdom. Just because it closes the earliest of the parks and again, we'd want to make the most of our time there.

I, myself, have been to WDW 4 times (twice as a kid, and twice with DH & our 2 DDs). With the kids, we've eaten at Akershus, Crystal Palace, Sci-Fi, Whispering Canyon, 50s Prime Time, Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree, Tony's. Since this upcoming trip will just be 4 adults, I'm looking for a place that's a little more "grown up", if you will.

No ideas?

If you were going to WDW for an adults-only trip, what one restaurant would you want to eat at?

Flying Fish at the Boardwalk. :thumbsup2 Its a 5-10 minute walk from Epcot out the International Gateway by the UK pavillion.

Delicious food and dessert and the most amazing blood orange margarita in the World.

I'd suggest something at WS.

We're trying La Hacienda de San Angel and Les Chefs de France this time. I've heard great things about Tutto Italia as well.

I'd just pick the menu that suits your family. Maybe even try something that you wouldn't ordinarily eat at home, like Marakesh in Morocco.

check allears.net for the menus of all the restaurants in Epcot or any of the parks and/or resorts for that matter.

Bistro de Paris in Epcot. No children's menu so it doesn't get many kids and they don't take the Dining Plan. More upscale than Chefs de France and the meal is slow and leisurely.

Chefs de France would be my choice. It'll be something new for you, you can have a grownup meal there, and it isn't going to slam your wallet quite like Bistro de Paris or the Yachtsman would.

Flying Fish is also a good recommendation and worth considering.

i would say the Yatchsman if you are looking for a steak house. we went there for our honeymoon and i did not see more then a handfull of children there. it was all adults there and the food was very good. also it is a short walk from epcot

Thanks for all the suggestions! I need to check out the menus for these places...

Ditto on Flying Fish. We also enjoy Yachtsman's and CG. Narcoossee's is a recent favorite. The only troubling aspect is the comment on cost. It is Disney after all. :rotfl2:

I'm going to go a little in a different vein here.

In DHS I'd pick 50sPTC because adults "get it" more when it comes to the theme and a few treats from Dad's liquor cabinet are enjoyable without little ones. It's a fun place to goof around and enjoy with friends. It's certainly not gourmet but fun and the prices are just right.

In MK I'd choose the Plaza because it's a quiet and welcome break from the crowds and the pricing is quite reasonable. Maybe Tony's too though it's malaigned on her from time to time. We had a nice experience though. It's also very doable to grab the ferry over to the Poly to visit Kona or to the GF to visit the Grand Floridian Cafe for a nice "break" lunch that is better in quality than most of the park offerings.

In EPCOT I really enjoy Coral Reef and at lunch the menu is more reasonable. I think you might enjoy most of the WS at lunch as well. It just depends on what you like.

Have a great time!

Def. go to Le cellier. I would also recomend going to Ohana-great food and fun atmosphere

I think 9 Dragons in Epcot is a nice place to eat that isn;t too expensive. Afterwards, you can always go and watch fireworks.

50sPTC is on my list of considerations... I've eaten there before (during our last trip, Oct 2010) and loved it!
