Our first day was very long just getting to the resort. The usual plane ride from Wisconsin(9:45 a.m.) to Cincinnati and then on to Orlando. Then the hour long wait for the Mears Shuttle Bus at the airport and then finally taking us to Dixie Landings(5:30 p.m.). This was our first time at DL and we loved it as soon as we saw it, everything I have heard on this Discussion Board was true(the good stuff-THANKS EVERYONE!) The weather was overcast and drizzly the first two days, but after that it got into the 70's and into the 80's by our last day(how nice for people who had to head back to sleet, snow and single digit temps!) Our plane landing was quite scary, but we had faith in our pilot who did a wonderful job landing us on a slippery airstrip(Kudos to our pilot from Delta Airlines!)

Just wanted to give a few tips for you couples w/o kids:

1)DL is definitely nice for couples, yes there are kids there, but the ambience doesn't make you mind so much.
2)Have dinner at Fulton's Crabhouse between the Marketplace and Pleasure Island around 7:00 p.m. Then after dinner head to Pleasure Island and check out The Adventurer's Club(What a blast we had there interacting with the staff). And then catch the 10:00-10:30 comedy act at The Comedy Club. If you still have energy after that, head to Mannequin's and dance until your too pooped to party.(We had the best night ever in our Disney history when we followed this plan) HOPE YOU DO TOO!!
3)Don't miss the Rock'in Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror. When we went we only had to wait five minutes each time we went on(TOT twice and RRC three times)WHAT A BLAST - TOT RULES!)
4)If you are in to miniature golf, Fantasia Gardens by the Boardwalk is nice to also experience in the evening. We were able to catch the fireworks from Fantasia at MGM(9:00 p.m.) while we were golfing. We recommend the challenging course versus the kiddie course, it was more interesting and there were...you guessed it... no kids.

Hope you are able to enjoy these tips!

P.S. We by no means dislike children, but it is nice to take a vacation in a popular children's vacation place and still enjoy some things without them being everywhere. Any questions just ask

Thanks for the info on the minature golf. We want to try it next time.

We had such a great time in December, we're still on our "peel us off the ceiling" high. Can't wait to get back down there and do some more "adults only" stuff. Glad you enjoyed yourselves.

The Adventurer's club is a riot!! My first time there, i got the third degree from the stone face on the wall for about 10 minutes, all the while being watched by a sro crowd!!

Kungaloosh!!

Thanks for the tips - thou it will be ahwile before I can do Disney without a child. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for the adults only tips! I'm glad to hear about DL as we are staying there this thanksgiving. Also, I will definitly do the pleasure island suggestion.

No, we didn't get a chance to ring the butler's dingy. During the time we were there he stayed in the upper balcony. We will have to track him down next time! Thanks for the info!

Your welcome to everyone who are able to use our suggestions!

thanks.. DW and I (w/o kids) will be heading off in Dec. Thanks for the advice!
