Good morning! My sister did her online check-in this morning. She, DH and DD9 got A boarding passes, and her DS6 got the first B. She is worried about what to do, since "the CSR at the desk don't get there until 10 minutes before the flight." My advice (after I said talk to the CSR) was to be the last of the A's, and drag the B boy with them in line. I'm certain that families have been split like this before, and the nature of the beast is that it WILL be the youngest with the lower letter. Experiences? Advice? Suggestions?

Earlier this week had a conversation with a fellow traveller(sp?) who had the same thing happen. Everyone in their group was "A" , except one child in "B". They let the child go on with his family in the "A" group-no problem.

I imagine they would let the child go ahead and go with the A group.

They can stand anywhere in the "A" line -- they will always allow a child with a different boarding group letter to board with the rest of his party.

We have had this before and they put your entire family in the "A" line, it is not a problem at all.

This happened to me last year and I asked the gate agent when I got there and they said no problem, the child could stay in A.

Thank you SO much for the information. :thumbsup2 DSis will be relieved. :scared:

The child can board in "A" with his parents.

One time I got an A and DH got a B. We were allowed to board together in the A group.

Or, they could all board with the "B" line. Yeah, I know - they'll all be allowed to board as "A"s (or at least should be), but this IS an alternative for anyone concerned about not being allowed to board the plane in the same group as one or more other members of their party.
