This year's costume! I have worn this before and had some great reactions, especially from CMs. Alexander Nitrokoff from the Haunted Mansion portraits.

No idea whatsoever what kind of costume I'll put together for my 2015 trip, but I'm going to have to read through this post for ideas! I've never been a fan of store-bought costumes, especially now that I'm a grown woman and the options all start with "sexy ____". Did want to share what I did back in 2009. I was a couple weeks out from MNSSHP, low on funds, and unable to find anything I wanted to wear. Solution? Hand-sew a life-size python puppet. I have a tendency to get overambitious sometimes.
I winged it, so sadly don't have a pattern (for the head and front part of it I just wrapped the fabric around my arm inside-out, pinned it to fit snugly, then sewed some rolled up fabric pieces inside the head to give it a less hand-like shape). I got a lot of compliments on it, but I will say I got a bit sweaty wearing what was essentially a scarf and sleeve of thick fabric and that my arm got a bit sore from holding my hand out all night. I've reused it a couple times at Halloween parties and it's always a hit.
So excited! Going Oct 3rd. My husband is going as the Stay Puft Marshmallow man and my youngest son (age 4) is going as a Ghostbuster. My oldest son (age 7) is going as a creeper from Minecraft. I'm going as a Haunted Mansion Maid but I'm doing ghostly makeup to make it creepy. Here was a trial run for my makeup....
I think the official answer is no, but I guess it depends on the costume. Cat ear headband and tail--probably fine. Life-size Sta-Puft man--probably not . You could always rent a locker for your costume and change into it between 4-7. Just make sure to get your wristband before you go into a bathroom to change if you wait til close to 7:00--they even look in there for non-party-ticket holders! LOL
I love seeing all of the pictures. The costumes are awesome.
My DD and I are going down in mid October and she convinced me we should dress up for the party. We are doing tutus with leggings and tank tops. Nothing fancy. She will be Ariel and I am Ursula. My best friend is going to be Prince Eric. I think he got the easier one.
