Does anyone know how places are in the parks if adults want to get kids meals? I mean some of those regular meals have such big portions that all I want is a kids meal because they are the perfect size and they are always good food! I know when I was there back in 2004 there wasnt a big deal but I didnt know if things happen to change or not....????

I was wondering this too. I have gastroparesis and often the only things I can eat are from the children's menu, and the portions are small enough to fit how much I'm told to consume.

The thing to remember is that if you are on DDP, you will use an adult credit not a child's(if you have children using the plan with you) at table service restaurant, so head's up. With a mixed party on DDP using CS, it really makes no difference if you order and use a child's credit.

I actually dont have the dining plan this trip because it is just my mom and I and we werent able to get it for free. Last year when the two of us were there we had the dining plan and we wasted a ton of food so we decided against it this trip...thats why i think it will be nice to be able to get kids meals and not have to worry about wasting credits or anything

So, with the 2 adults and a child on the DDP, if one adult orders all the food (quick service) while the child and other adult are somewhere else, can that adult use one of the child's qs credits on the child's food or does the child have to be standing there (DD's only 3)?

They never made my children stay with me

In Jan, we weren't on the DDP, I ordered a kid's meal for myself at most CS locations. Never was an issue.

the CM's don't know who's eating what.... so if you want a kids meal I'd just get it and let them think its for junior who's sitting with Gramps in the shade:rotfl:

BTW... a couple times while on the DP...my DD wanted something on the "adult" menu at the CS so I got the kids meal and she got the grown up one!

I usually buy the kids meals, it definitely isn't a problem in the counter service locations.

I also prefer kid's meals. Even with the smaller portions, they're usually too much for me. I haven't had any problems with getting them at CS restaurants (nobody knows whether you have kids), but I have been refused at TS restaurants. It's not like the price difference is a problem... if it were, I wouldn't be at WDW in the first place! :rotfl:

I'm glad there are others like me :)

You can order the kids meals but I found them to be very unappealing. It's the typical chicken finger type stuff. NOT what I would call vacation food to me it looks like something I would get in prison! :lmao:

I understand why some may want kids meals. It depends on how picky the person is as well I guess. Apparently I'm picky and unrefined(lol) in my dining choices because after looking over the menus at the more expensive ts places, I doubt I would eat much of it!! DH is a more adventurous diner, so if we got the DP it would be more for him!

Well i am pretty picky and I like the chicken finger and mac and cheese those are some of my favorite foods!! Thanks everyone!

DH and I tend to share CS meals at WDW. Neither of us is a light eater, but when we've got a TS meal for breakfast or a TS meal later in the day, we tend to not be hungry enough for our own CS meals each. Plus, if we share one CS meal, we'll likely have more room later for a snack! If it's you and your mom, and you both want to eat small, keep sharing in mind. In a lot of cases this will be cheaper than 2 kids meals.

You know what my mom did say something about just sharing one adult CS meal! That would always work for us. Same here, we have 2 days where we have breakfast buffets (chef mickey's and boma) so we really will not be that hungry after that because breakfast is both of our favorite meals! Thanks for the info!
