My DBF and I are going to Disney World this August!
It's his first trip ever so he really wants to get the full experianc and we got to talking the other day about whether or not we should get autographs from the characters?!!

We want to but we thought it might be weird getting autographs! We are 24 and 22!

Last time I went with my bff we went and took photos and the characters were great but we didnt do the autograph thing!

What do you guys think?! Weird? or not?

well considering I am 45 and will be getting autographs .. no I don't think it is weird at all .. go and enjoy yourselves :)

Haha I'm going in September, not my first time though, and will be getting autographs, I'm 17. I used to do it but a couple years back I lost my autograph book and never bought another one. I recently went cleaning in my room and found an almost new book with no autographs in it (talk about luck), I plan to act like a little kid and go crazy trying to get autographs.

I'm on the hunt for characters!

DH and I are childless adults, and so far we've done lots of photos but not the autograph thing. But someday I keep swearing that I'm going to get a book and spend a day at WDW autograph hunting! :thumbsup2

My husband and I love getting autographs. We have the characters sign in our trip journal and then we put the photograph with the character in the opposite page. I love how each character has a unique autograph that is always the same and are a great fit too. (Like the bubbles in Ariel's autograph.)

I did it this year at age 18. I irritated my family because they wanted to do it with me for some reason, but complained that they were bored every time.

Count me in as an adult who loves  to get autographs. Your first time may be awkward...but the characters are so great that you will soon be hooked!! Went to WDW for the first time in '01...been back 4 times and have gotten autographs each time. Unfortunately for me...now the dd's are old enough to get them, so I let them have all the fun. :lmao: Will have to wait till we do wdw w/o kids again so I can get the chance to get them!!! :rotfl: oh, by the way I was 26 when we went in '01. :goodvibes

I totally agree with this!! DH and I are going in 18 days and I will be getting autographs and pictures! Heck, I even MADE my autograph book :)

I made mine last year as well...thank you to the wonderful Designers here on the Dis! The characters loved seeing their picture ... especially Mushu! He made such a fuss and wouldn't let us leave. It was a riot. (Yes, I was with DS 12 at the time but I was the one getting the autographs! ;) )

I agree ... there are no adults at Disney, we are all children. Go For It and have fun!

Many adults are in line getting their autograph and pictures. No one is really paying that much attention to whether you have kids or not.:thumbsup2

DW and I are 25, she still gets autographs from almost every character she sees every trip :thumbsup2

Im 22 and DF is 28. We get things signed like photomats and stuff to put pictures in. The memories are so special. I dont care. Everyone can be a kid in WDW---thats the magic! :thumbsup2

DH and I went last fall and it was my first trip. I put so much time into making cute little autograph cards that I was going to scrapbook when I got home - some specifically for certain parks, and some for certain characters. But when the time came to go to the parks, I changed my mind. I saw the long lines of little kids and I just couldn't do it.

We still took pictures with characters during character meals and if the lines weren't long at all, but I just felt odd making a small child wait in line behind me to meet their favorite character.

I certainly don't think adults shouldn't do it - I sometimes wish I did.

i think we'll try it out and see how we feel after! but you all are definitly making me want to at least try :D

Definitely do it! It's all part of the Disney experience. I get pics every year with characters and plan to do autographs this year. Make memories!! You'll love to look back and smile and laugh. :goodvibes

We brought my father in law down for his first trip 2 years ago.
He was 73 and couldn't wait to get autographs.
He waited in liine for Dopey and Snow White, Mary Poppins, Alice, several Mickey and Minnie lines, Goofy etc...
Never had a problem, or got any strange looks.

DH (45) & I (43) have a great time waiting in line for pictures and autographs. The characters are always so much fun and we have just as good of a time interacting with them as the kids do. :cool1:
We did autograph books on our last trip for our niece & nephew for Christmas presents...we used the books that you have one page autographed and put a picture on the opposite page. The kids LOVE them and we had so much fun "hunting" for different characters.
As a PP said, there are no adults at Disney!! :rotfl:

Have a fabulous trip!!
