I think I found a cute couples costume for MNSSHP. My hubby is game, but if we get there and no other adults are dressed up he would be mad! (Plus, I'd feel stupid!) We're going on the 3rd, is this too early for most people to be dressed up?

Curious, if you're going are you dressing up?
And if so, very elaborate or pretty easy?

If you've been before how many adults were actually dressed up? What kinds of costumes did you see?

Thanks!

Hi Shan,

We are going October 26th and dh & I will not be dressing up, just the kids. I think dh was a little disappointed but I didn't want to spend the money on two more costumes. We are also going on October 31st. DH is going to be Capt. Hook, dd will be Wendy, and ds will be Peter Pan. I guess I'm going to be Tink. I probably should have thought the theme through a little more. Unless I lose some weight, I'm going to be Tinker Chunk.

I haven't been to MNSSHP before but I think you should wear your costumes!

:) Michele

If you want to wear costumes, do! My DH and I, along with our kids, all wore costumes last year. We were pirates from the POTC movie, and my daughters were princesses (of course). We had a blast and didn't feel self-conscious at all. There were lots of other adults dressed up, and we thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it!

pirate: Group of around 11 last year on Halloween night!!::yes::

6 adults and 5 kids.....

We had Lilo,Nani,David
Cleopatra,a Gladiator,mini superman,Jasmine
"Crazy mental patient"-Captain Hook
Witch and a pirate!!!pirate:

We all had a blast and would dress up again in a second!!

The party was so fun! I wish I could post the picture of our group.
I will try and do that..

DH was going to wear one of his masks until he found that he couldn't (they don't allow them). Then he decided not to dress up at all. DD & I have him talked into dressing up again.

DD & I are thinking of going as characters from the HM Movie (Ghosts from the graveyard type characters - not zombies).

So we are going to start looking at patterns to make a costume with, but to make it a bit raggedy to look worn and old.

We are going on the 29th. This will be our first party.

Those that are going need to check out the following thread:

Who's Going in October 2004

There are 3 of us going on October 17 - my mom, sister and I (all adults, by the way) and we are planning on dressing up. We still aren't sure what we are going to do yet, though. My mom has some super-secret thing going on. I was thinking Little Red Riding Hood, but I don't know anybody who sews (I certainly don't! ).

Absolutely! We are dressing this year as Peter Pan & Tinkerbell. We are trying to convince my MIL to be Captain Hook! :p All the adults in our party of 7 are dressing up except MIL.

In 2001 my partner and I were Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dumb. The pictures are priceless. :teeth:

We went last year on Oct. 30th a sold out MNSSHP night. DH and I wore Halloween t-shirts that we had bought at Target. DD was of course all dressed up in her Belle gown. Honestly the night we went the vast majority of the adults were not dressed up. Now quite a few had on Halloween t-shirts like DH and I but most were not in full costume. Other adults we saw just wore a Halloween hat, or Disney hat, some had on Halloween or fall themed sweaters and vests, some had on Halloween pins or glow necklaces. The ones that were all dressed up looked great as many had a whole family theme going. I was just surprised at how many were not dressed up and this was on the 30th.

bumping before I order my costume, I'm getting nervous I might feel like a dork. :p

Go for it! It makes the party even more fun. ::yes:: We went two years ago, and had a blast. Many CMs and guests commented on our costumes. I even got into a little fun with the "real" Queen of Hearts on Town Square. ;)

We're going on the 8th this year, and can't wait. This reminds me that I really need to get busy picking out some costumes. :teeth:

Last year my boyfriend and I went to MNSSHP (both in our 40's) and dressed up as Woodie and Jessie (costumes we bought through Disney). Since it was during school time his son (15) did not come with us. We went with my parents (in their 70's) and my boyfriends father (in his 80's). Both dads wore orange tshirts that said "This is my Halloween Costume" that I had purchased at Target (arounds $5.00). My mom wore a orange long sleeve t-shirt with a halloween style vest (the material had ghosts, witches, cats and pumpkins and so forth on it) along with a black boa. We all had a wonderful time and did not feel funny at all being dressed up with no kids with us. So many people were dressed up and everyone was checking out each other costumes and talking to everyone about their costumes. It really gave you a feeling of belonging and everyone seemed to be having alot of fun. This year we are doing MVMCP with the same crew and will probably all wear some type of holiday sweater or sweatshirt.

Fab pic Alicia. That is who we are planning on going as - Alice and Mad Hatter.

My hubby has asked me several times though that since we're going on the 3rd and it is so far before Halloween if less people will be dressed up at this event. Thoughts?

Great picture Alicia! :wave2: I thought I recognized that face! ;)

We went for the first time last year and we didnt get dressed up. We were totally bummed!! Next time, I will have a costume for sure!!

Shan, when we went in 2002 it was mid-month. I don't think you'll feel uncomfotable at all in the parks dressed up. There were LOTS of adults dressed up.

Believe me, it will enhance your experience. ::yes:: Love that you guys are doing Alice and the Mad Hatter. You've definitely gotta look for Alice in Wonderland characters for photo ops. :D We found the QoH on Town Square, and that cardman in our photo was by the Tea Cups in Fantasyland.

Have a great time!

Hi Dennis!
