Adults doing Universal - IoA or both parks?

My husband and I are doing our first Disney world trip in Feb (11-18) and have one day set aside for Universal (Monday, Feb 13). We will be taking Mears transportation from our Disney resort.

I know this question gets asked a lot, but is it best to focus only on one park (IoA), or would we have time to do both parks in one full day? We are planning to arrive at rope drop and since we don't have children we can keep moving as we please. We don't mind getting back to our Disney resort late at night.

Is the extra cost worth it for us to do both parks with only one day? We are definitely doing IoA but I worry that doing the other park will just be hectic to cram into a single day. Does it help that we will be attending on a Monday versus a weekend day?

Thoughts? :confused3

I think it would be worth it considering you are going in Feb., on a Monday no less. Most rides will be a walk on. I wouldn't want to miss Revenge of the Mummy or Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. MIB is pretty cool too. Do you plan on doing the water rides? If not, that's 2-3 rides you could skip right there (at IoA). I say go for it.

My partner and I do both Universal parks in one day. We get the express pass and always end up back at our hotel at a decent hour.

if you only do one park, you'll be missing out on a lot of great things the other park has to offer.

do a one day park hopper and hit the highlights of both parks/ioa and the studios.

It really depends on what type of rides/attractions you like. If I only had 1 day I'd DEFINITELY do a park-to-park ticket and cherry pick what I'd like out of either park.

Personally (and my own personal bias DEFINITELY applies here) IOA is the side that I enjoyed way more. Then again I love coasters.

I can get both parks in a day, so go get park hopper. Must rides are:

Simpsons, Spiderman, Forbidden Journey, all 3 water rides, all 4 non-kiddie coasters, and please, make sure you ride E.T. Adventure due to rumours of it leaving.

Thank you for your input...it sounds like doing both parks would work as far as having enough time to do the main highlights at each. I just have to decide whether or not it is worth the extra money to do both; I have never really been to theme parks before other than when I was under age 8 so I'm not really sure what type of rides I'm into which makes it difficult to decide!

That would make it harder to decide. But we always do both parks in one day. Like everyone else said, it is definitely doable and IMO both parks each have something "can't miss" inside of them. Whatever you decide you will have fun regardless!
