my dh and I are going to celebrate 40 years of marriage at WDW in January/February. We do have to down size on the budget though. We usually stay at Riverside but this trip we are staying at Pop Century. How is Pop Century for adults only trips? Thank you!

We love POP. My DH and I are going on Septenber 20th for our 28th annivesary adlut ony trip. We been to POP 3 times with adults olny.

Before I became a DVC owner I stayed at POP once and I'm glad I requested a room facing the parking lot. It seemed like the pool area and the areas in between the buildings seemed to be packed with kids/teenagers but to be fair there was some type of event going on (I think it was some dance competition).

We've stayed at Pop with our kids on 3 trips and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there for an adults-only trip. I'd probably request a lake view room or the 70's section to be in a more quiet area.

Ditto to what Bluezy said. For more peace and quiet you want to be at the back of the resort although Jan/Feb isn't going to be too terribly bad.

We've been at Pop Century twice. Our latest trip this past spring, we were on the ground floor right by the main pool. It wasn't noisy. They even showed the nightly movies really close to our room. Still not noisy. One night a group of adults sat outside our room talking and laughing and having a good time. Even though they weren't really noisy, when it got late in the evening they were told to move along. And never heard anything from other rooms. So one person's idea of noisy may be different from another person's idea.

It's of course less fancy than the moderates, and there is hardly any theming inside the rooms: just one poster of whatever decade you're staying in, is all I remember about the indoor theming. There is more theming outdoors, though. For a trip where you just need a place to stay and you won't be spending much time in the room, it's adequate. I've stayed there twice and it was OK.

Congratulations on your upcoming milestone anniversary!

We've stayed there a few times as adults only and never had any issues. We usually book a preferred room, so we're closer to the amenities. If you're planning on spending time at the resort you will find it loud especially around the pool areas plus the food court can be insane busy during prime breakfast and dinner times - but if that doesn't bother you, you'll be fine. The hotel itself is lovely and the Pop Century theme is very well done.

16 times - all adults! :cool1:
Most kids don't even get the icons, decor and trivia there. We love 50's Lake view rooms. Standard value prices with a deluxe view.
Bowling Pin pool is always empty with lots of loungers.

My DH and I are here right now. Personally I do not see it as a romantic resort. It is very difficult to get king beds as there are only so many throughout the resort and they are the handicapped accessible rooms. We hear everything going on in the room next door... Seriously, everything. We are in a connecting room so maybe that's why. The 70s have been quiet - we don't hear much noise outside. With that said, for us the price is right and we are spending very little time at the resort. And the buses are GREAT - we rarely wait.

Love Pop! Get a lake view. There is also a running/walking path. Such a pretty view, especially early in the morning.

Congrats!!!

thank you all for your kind words and helpful ideas! I am so excited!! We haven't been there in 6 years and since it is our 40th anniversary I really want it to be special.

My hubby and I have stayed many times (just us) at the Pop. It doesn't have a lot of frills, but the Petal Pool bar is nice to relax at and since we don't spend a lot of time at the resort away it fits us just fine. As for noise level, there are kids and noisy people everywhere as it is Disney but we haven't had a problem there or at any other resorts we have been at.

Pop Century is great for adults! Heck, we even stayed at Art of Animation and did one night with the kids and then 1 night without! (We are local). It was cool being able to take the bus to MK after dinner and play til the park closed at 2 Am without worrying about the kids passing out! Happy Anniversary to you!!!
