Hi Guys

My husband surprised me with a WDW trip in early Sept. for our 12th wedding anniversary.:woohoo:We are leaving the kids behind with the grand-parents so this is will be a romantic getaway just the two of us. :thumbsup2

We will be staying at the Polynesian resort and will be there from Sept 4th to the 11th so will have monorail access. The 11th to the 12th we are staying at POFQ. We do not have a park hopper.

I already started booking some restaurants but am wondering if I should swap out some. Here is what I booked so far.

UPDATE
After taking everyones suggestion, I shuffled some restaurants arounds.
Ok guys here is what I ended up with:

Day 1: afternoon arrival
5:45pm Kona Cafe

Day 2: Changed park to MK
12:55: BOG
5:50: Ohana'

Day 3: EP
12:30: Coral Reef
8:20pm Via Napoli

Day 4: HS
12:40pm 50's Prime Time
5:20pm Beaches and Cream
(decided to keep B&C for now but got an earlier ADR so can go back to HS to see nightly entertainment)

Day 5: Pool day and MNSSHP at night
Thinking of trying WCC or the Wave for breakfast or lunch?

Day 6: Typhoon Lagoon
5:50pm California Grill (debating cancelling this night and just ordering room service at hotel)

Day 7: MK
12:50pm Liberty Tree Tavern
5:45 California Grill (debating going this night instead of day 7)

Day 8: Check out of Poly and AK
8:25am Tusker House Breakfast
11:45 Wild Africa Trek (lunch is served on Trek)
8:15PM Raglan Road
(Debating changing Ragland Road for a restaurant in AK: Y&Y or Tiffins?)

What do you guys think of my changes?

Narcoossee's - We have eaten at 50% of the restaurants on WDW property and this is hands-down our favorite!
Artist Point
Coral Reef
Victoria & Albert's if you like the cuisine and you are looking for something romantic (and it fits your budget)

Wow thanks for the great suggestions.

Narcossee's looks so nice. I will definitely look into it!

I have never tried Artist point and am tempted since I always wanted to check out WL. Maybe will do on my MK night.

Read so many bad reviews on Coral Reef, I decided to go with Le Cellier instead. Should I switch?

We did V&A two years ago and was blown away with the food but I think I will skip it this time. We are looking for something a little more relaxed.

I love them both, but the Yachtsman does have better food and is more adult.
Hmmm, dilemma. I am a real burger lover and heard they got some of the best burgers on property. Plus I really wanted to try out B&C's No way Jose sundae. Now I am stumped again!?

Yak and Yeti is one of our favorites at AK!
Beaches and Cream is your best bet for the burgers and sundae experience.
If you are adventurous with food, Biergarten (especially for the beer) and Morocco were two of our favorites before having a kid (although we are bringing our DD 4 to both next visit, ha ha!) Really tasty food at both, and the Biergarten show is a lot of fun!
While you are at POFQ you could take the boat to Disney Springs for dinner. I have not been to any of their restaurants but I know there are a lot of highly-reviewed ones.

Great, I think I will stick to B&C. My husband prefers Yatchman steakhouse but I think sharing a ice cream sundae at B&C will be fun. After all, I am just a big kid stuck in an adults body
:rotfl2:
I love Beirgarten. It is one of my family's favourites. I just don't want to sit with other people. Not that romantico_O! So I opted out this trip.
But I think I will take your advise and go to Disney Springs on my last night. Thanks

We love Boma, Sanna (both AKL) , Restaurant Marakesh, Les Chefs De France, Raglan Road at Disney Springs. Not sure if these work into any of your plans.

I love Boma but never tried Sanna. Maybe should head over to AKL on my first day for dinner, then head back to the park for the night festivities.
I always wanted to try Raglan Road. I think we'll head there the night we are at POFQ since I am just a boat ride away from Disney Springs.
Thanks for the suggestions.

Narcoossee's for sure! We love both brunch and dinner there. We also love Sanaa. If you eat dinner there, make sure to do so early enough so that the sun's still out and you can still see the animals.

Oh Narcosses does brunch. I like it!

Sanaa sounds great. I will check it out. Thanks

We are doing our first adult only trip later this month. I thought of places that I want to try, that I don't think our son would like. I also thought the lounges would be nice. With DS, I like to have an ADR, so we don't have to wait. As adults, waiting isn't an issue, within reason, so the appetizers/small plates at the bars and lounges could work. Traveling from parks to hotels can also be a pain with kids, but not so much as adults. Most of the hotel signatures aren't as comfortable for kids, so this is a great time to try them.

V&A (great but pricey)
Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge
Tiffins
Nomad Lounge
Sanaa
Jiko
Spice Road Table
Morimoto (TS or QS)
Trader Sam's
Capa (Four Seasons)
Yak & Yeti
Jock Lindsey's

Your plans sound great! Lounges are a great option. I never think of it since I am always with the kids.
Have a great vacation.

Coral Reef does get a lot of bad reviews, however we had a very good meal there on our last visit. I had a New Strip Steak which was cooked & seasoned perfectly. I had the Bailey's & Jack Daniels Chocolate Mousse for dessert. It was wonderful. I assume with all the bad reviews that perhaps they are not very consistent, but our meal was great and I would eat there again.

Your story is similar to mine! We are going for 4 nights at the end of August for our 10th anniversary (a month early because of school starting), staying at the Poly. So far, I have ADRs for 'Ohana, Via Napoli, Maya Grill and The Turf Club. We decided to try some new resort restaurants that would be more difficult travel wise with our DD5 in tow. These may change as our plans change over the next 2 months.

We really liked Olivia's when we stayed at OKW. Although I have seen negative reviews, Portobello in Disney was one we really enjoyed. My DH still talks about the pork ragu on the gnocchi he ordered! We also had the best server we have ever had at that meal, which may affect our opinion :)

While I have yet to eat there, I would plan Yak & Yeti for dinner if you are staying in AK for the evening. It's on my list of places to try, we just never seem to fit it in to our plans.

In previous years, we always went to Le Cellier and loved it. Also, in those same previous years, Coral Reef was less than stellar.

The last 2 - 3 times we visited Le Cellier, none of us were impressed. The steaks are not very flavorful, the food is no where near the prices they charge and the service is just okay.
Coral Reef, on the other hand, has been very very good. We have been very pleased with it and pleasantly surprised.

Kimonos at the Swan is one of my favorites but go when they open (5:30 I believe) way before the karaoke starts for the evening unless you wish to partake in it. Very good, fresh sushi & relaxing atmosphere for an early dinner.

Raglan Road is another favorite of mine. I like to go after an early park close for a late dinner & sit outside on the patio to listen to the band play.

I would vote for dropping B&C in lieu of a better option. It often gets mentioned as one of the most over-rated places on the DIS. It doesn't come to mind as a special romantic place for a couple to go. I watched a podcast a few months ago about a burger place opening in DS that should win the title of best burger on property, but can't remember the name of it....
