So I just got back from my solo trip/work meetings in Orlando. It was indeed as amazing as I hoped. I rode every single thrill ride. My first favorite observation: getting a FP for one person after your first three is SO much easier than trying to get it for 2 adults and 2 kids. I literally was able to get a FP for every single ride I wanted since I was totally flexible on time. I even got a FP for Flight of Passage at noon on Sunday for 2 pm, so with the express bus I was able to jump over there and do that, which I had earlier decided to skip because I didn't want to wait in lines. I got to wander into every shop in MK that I always rush by because my kids want to go to a ride. I rode on a horse on the carousel instead of standing there holding onto my kid on a horse. If I could, I would have added one more day, I think I would have done every single thing I really wanted to do at the parks in 3 full days - I spent less time in the World Showcase than I would have liked, but I really wanted to see Fantasmic at HS and ride the Great Movie Ride since it was the day they announced it was closing for good next month. After my work meetings Mon and Tues I got to go over to Disney Springs (in the rain) to eat and do a little shopping, another thing my kids think is "boring". And, although I expected to get grief from my kids (9 & 5) about going without them, they both just asked me if I was having fun every time I called and wanted me to send them photopass pics. In all, it was a glorious weekend away! I will definitely plan another solo trip one day.
