I am going to DL for the first time this summer (7/30-8/4/03). This might sound silly, but I've gone to WDW about 5 times in the last 4 years and I've never had a chance to ride Dumbo (one of my favorite characters). I know its mostly a kids ride but I really want to ride and have my picture taken on it. When is it a good time for an adult to try to ride Dumbo at DL? At WDW I tried going in the AM but the line was already a mile long by 10Am!! And there were so many little ones I didn't want to take away from them so I decided to come back at night and it was closed! So any clue on this would be appreciated. TIA;)

Dumbo usually has a pretty long line, first thing in the morning or evening, before the park closes you can find shorter waits. DL also has a Dumbo "car" next to the ride that you can pose in for pictures.

I admit, I'm another adult-Dumbo rider. :o :D :o

I always feel kind of embarrassed with all those little kids, but I like to ride anyway. The last few times, though, the line has been too long! As much as I enjoy it, I won't stand in line more than 30 minutes for a 60-second ride. Maybe if you try late at night (the park should be open till 11 or 12 when you go), all the little kids will be in bed, and the line will be shorter. ;)

We went on Dumbo During the Fireworks!! There were only about 20 people in line!!

Thank you for all your replies! During the fireworks sounds good, I can probably get wonderful pictures that way!! Thanks again!

Yup, Dumbo during fireworks. Great pictures and wonderful video.

next time we can plan our trips together and you can take my kids on it, i am terrified of heights and I really hate it when they make it go as high as they can!!!

I don't mind Dumbo, but I hate Astro Orbitor. I always feel like I'm going to fall out!

msr709 I wish you were going a month earlier. We have 3 kids and only 2 adults to go on Dumbo. Last year they let us squexxe in with the baby but nowthe baby is 28 lbs. We could use another adult to ride. What is the age limit for children riding alone? Does anyone know?
Enjoy the ride The lines will definately be shorter during the fireworks. At WDW my dh and dd rode it twice in a row during them.

Ride Dumbo the first thing in the morning when the park opens. For the first 2 - 3 rides they don't even hand out the feathers, and you can walk right on. We don't ride Dumbo at any other time; just too many people.

msr709,
We usually have been able to get on Dumbo first thing in the morning with no wait at DL, but I have never seen Dumbo without a wait at WDW (even during early entry times).

Another cool thing--regarding your photo. DL has a Dumbo over to one side where you can get a wonderful picture.
