Adult Disney experience…is it disappearing?

What comes to mind for me, is the demise of Pleasure Island, and the “movie-fying” of every attraction. That just wrecks the historic and creativeness of the attraction….. PotC comes to mind, but there are many.

I always thought Disney was making a huge mistake not catering to adults a bit more (make hot tubs adult only, some quiet pools adult only...) I get the argument that "disney is for families" well some families consist of adults! I remember reading somewhere an idea to have an adult only resort! What a dream!! I love all the shows, street performers, shops.. not a huge ride lover. I still don't understand why some of the bars can't be adult only all the time!
I often joke with my friends, when we see a kid melt down or parents struggle with pushchairs, "why are they bringing kids to Disney?" :rotfl2:

The cruise line does it with the adult only pool, bar, and restaurant ......

Facebook just presented me with this memory from the Grand Californian and it is exactly what I meant by the “Adult Disney Experience”. Do you think this kind of experience will be part of DVC in the future?
