43 and a half days to go.............

There's a lady on Ebay selling costumes, I think it's princess costumes or something like that. Anyway, she is selling most of her Adult Disney costumes for $99. She has some costumes that you don't see anywhere, even on the Disney website. I was looking at the Queen of Hearts....
There's a hat I want to get for my daughter, my neice and my nephew (different hats, same movie) and she wants 4 X the price that buycostumes is selling it for!
Remember, Before you bid on a costume, just make sure you scour the web checking prices...

As hot as it was last year on Sept. 30? I was glad to wear an orange t-shirt w. an iron-on I made myself. Comfort is key if you plan to ride anything. Reading all the posts, I think there will be many pirates. Put on a Universal t-shirt and look dead. I saw a family of Fast Passes. They looked great! What about some of the old movie characters - Indiana Jones, Star Wars...Rod Serling? Tot....get creative!

Just another thing to keep in mind, if you plan on riding an attraction be sure it something that won't be uncomfortable or tough to get into/out of the ride easily. Our friends did larger costumes one year and said never again.

And depending on how late you are going (season-wise) the weather might still be pretty warm. We are going to the 1st party on 9/15 & know the temps will be up there so we went with the short sleeved scrubs to be sure we'll be cool!

My sons and mom and I are going and we are dressing as follows: My oldest son is the Mad scientist and has scrubs and white coat, my youngest son is the patient/subject and has an oversized hopital gown, my mom and I will be the crazy looking nurse/assistants and have our own scrubs. A few years ago we did this with my mom and I and my oldest son. My mom was then the patient and we had a lot of fun. I can't wait! Easy to pack and nothing to buy, we all work in hospitals and for doctors!

We're going to MNSSHP 10/24 & everyone is set but me!
DH = pirate: DS (9) = :stitch: , DS (4) = Buzz (what! no Buzz smiley :goodvibes ) But I'm trying to decide whether to put some wings on a old blue bridesmaids dress & go as the Blue fairy from Pinochio(sp?) or wear a bathing suit with a grass skirt & go as hula girl. What do you think?

I've been racking my brain for a costume to wear and I keep coming back to being a bag lady BUT I don't want to offend anyone. I was going to get some older clothes that I don't wear anymore and kinda dirty them up and tear them. Thinking about making my hair ratty and dirtying my face. SO . . . . my question - do you think this is appropriate. I don't want anyone to think I am making fun of the homeless. I am Pooh-sized so I'm really having a hard time coming up with another idea. No flames please, just honest opinions. Thanks.

DH, DD (college-aged), and myself will be going as lifeguards. We'll wear lifeguard t-shirts, red shorts, fanny packs, whistles and caps. DD was a lifeguard in high school so she liked this idea better than going as the Flintstones! LOL.

I went last year as a flamingo - got a flamingo hat online, wore a hot pink t-shirt and trimmed the collar and sleeves with maribu feathers from a hot pink feather boa I got at the party store. Painted my face hot pink as well, with black and white around my eyes and black on my lips. People laughed as we walked thru the GF on the way to the park, but when we got there perfect strangers asked to take my picture, and we were asked to be in the parade that evening. She who laughs last laughs best, I always say. In any case, wear something light - it's still very warm in Orlando in October.

I hope I wont feel dumb. So many are doing disney characters... I'll have some foam bacon costume and my partner will have a foam egg costume. :)

:sad2:

Personally I think it's totally fine! :thumbsup2
