Adult & Child CS Credits Separate?

We were at WDW in Sept and I on several occassions ordered just one CS meal to be split between my 4 yo daughter and myself. We were on the dining plan. I always ordered Adult meals and ended up receiving far more adult meals than child meals. We are going to be on the dining plan again in a couple weeks, I am wondering if they have closed this loophole? We prefer to eat 1 TS big meal a day and 2 separate CS meals to spread out the food during the day (and the CS meals are more than we can eat if we get 2-we barely finish one adult meal between us). If we are there 4 nights, can I technically use more than 4 Adult CS credits or do they now notate in the system whether you are redeeming Adult or Child? I know they do on TS I just wondered on CS.

Sorry if this is confusing, and YES I know that technically the standard line from Disney is cs credits will be separated by Adult and child. Anyone have a report verifying this?

Thanks!

I doubt we'll see adult and child CS credits seperated in the system as long as there are participating restaurants that don't have kids' menus. I'm sure they'll get stricter about checking the party size when you order, so that someone with a party of 2A and 2C can't order 4 adult meals at a place with a kids' menu, but I don't think they'll seperate them in the system because then there'd be no way to take kids to Pizza Planet or Refreshment Port or Caseys, and really, pizza, McDs and hot dogs probably appeal to more kids than parents!

so can I, as an adult, walk up to Pizza Planet and just use 2 kids counter service credits to order meals for our family to split?

There aren't really "adult" and "child" counter service credits. You can walk up to Pizza Planet, which has no kids' menu, and order adult meals for every member of your party if you so choose. At a restaurant that does have a child's menu, you'd be limited to ordering the number of meals that match your party size, as noted on your key card.

I'm a little curious to see how they're handling this for the deluxe plan, since there is no distinction between table service credits, which are split by adult/child, and counter service credits, which aren't.

I have not been since September, but CS meals are designated as Adult and Child and we are on the honor system to use them that way. For sure you will only be allowed to order the number of Adult CS meals that are on your card.

For us we had 2A and 1C in our party. At no time would we have been able to order/pay for with the DDP 3A CS meals in at place that had a children's menu. We would need to either change the third meal to a kid's meal, skip it or pay OOP for it.

Like you we also ordered adult meals and shared them. We also used serveral to get him PB&J meals at his request. We were also able to exchange them for a few different combinations in the Grab & Go section of our resort CS restaurant. Such a fresh fruit and a couple of drinks. We spent our final morning in MGM he wanted ice cream and chose an Itzakadoozie from a cart for breakfast, so no Pizza Planet stop. He shared a pizza lunch with me when we returned to the resort to check out and get our ME bus.

On the contrary I can assure you that in September I had 2 A and 2 C in our party. On multiple occassions (at american Pavillion in Epcot, Pizzafari in AK, and Pecos Bills in MK) I ordered 4 Adult CS meals without any trouble. I do not want to do that on this trip since it will be just me and my daughter. I have ran the figures and the dining plan does make sense as we are going to end up paying $236.06 for the plan and by my calculations we will get $309.61 in value from the plan. But these dining plan figures do count on more Adult CS meals than child. I am a super planner and can sit down and plan my itineraries to the minute degre but if we stray from it, that's okay too. This worked out very well for us in Sept. I realize som people like to go to WDW and wing it, I on the other other hand find much of the fun in the planning process.

I know Disney is going to close this loophole in the future, just wondering if they already have. I know we are on the honor system, but we also pay A LOT of money to be at WDW so eeking another $20.00 in value from the dining plan does not seem like a capital offense to me. Go ahead and flame away!

In case anyone is wondering how this works:
A typical day might be:
sharing a counter service breakfast at Everything POP at 7:30am
sharing a counter service lunch at 11am
redeeming 2 TS credits for nice sit down dinner at 4pm
sharing one counter service meal from Evertyhing POP before bedtime.

We tend to eat more smaller meals than 3 big meals so this works out for us.

This is likely to ebb and flow as management pays more or less attention to how the meals are being billed. From time to time, the front-line CMs are reminded that they are not supposed to ring more adult meals in a single transaction than there are adults in the travel party. So, while this might happen from time to time, and some CMs might willingly look the other way, I would not count on it as a matter of course.
