Adult Character meal??

I'm planning a trip with three of my girlfriends to the world in October and we're all 26-27, but are kids at heart (as most of us are) and want to do a character meal.
Do adults do this at all without children? And is there one moreso than an other that we might feel less out of place?
I've never eaten at any TS restaurants so I have no idea what to even try. I think I was leaning towards 1900 Park Fare for dinner, but if anyone has any suggestions or ideas I'd love some help.

My DH and I have gone to several character meals without the kids and love it! You will have a great time. The characters will spend time with all of you as well.

Some of our favorites to this are the breakfast meals. Ohana and Crystal Palace are two of our favorites. A bonus with CP is that you can get into MK early with this meal.

Of course adults go!! I am 27 as well and my husband is 26. We've been to many a character meal with no kids, and we have a blast! Deciding on one depends on what characters you want to meet.

We've been to Cinderella's castle for breakfast (princesses - for DH's birthday), Chef Mickey's, and what used to be Donald's at AK (I think it is called something else now - it has been a while). Before being married, I went with friends to 1900 park fare, Crystal Palace, and O'hana (breakfast). Each is fun and you won't feel out of place at any - at least we didn't.

I would pick a meal based on food (breakfast vs. dinner, etc.), park you want to be in/near, and what characters you are interested in. We always hit Chef Mickey's for breakfast, but we love meeting the "classics" at a meal.

You'll have fun no matter what you decide!

Thanks for the input! I think we decided against CP (not huge winnie the pooh fans), but I was also thinking about a breakfast meal that would get us into the park early....CRT does a breakfast right?
I think I would really enjoy Ohana as well, I'm a huuge lilo & stitch fan

I think after reading this I'm leaning towards CRT or 1900 Park Fare.

Of course. My DH and I are both in our 50's and we love to do character meals. When the time comes, for our May 2009 trip, we'll be doing breakfast at Cape May Cafe and 'Ohana.

seriously, I think I went to 1 character meal before I got to college......

now I go all the time! I have been to CRT plenty of times for breakfast, Akershus for breakfast once, 1900 Park Fare once (DYING to go back), Donald's Breakfastosaurus in AK, and Garden Grill has become a yearly thing with my parents!

the only thing is if I'm not into playing along with the characters, asking them questions and such, I would feel kinda dumb......like "oh, this person is in a dress and looks like Cindy....why get a pic again?"

Coming from the West Coast our flight gets in too late to really enjoy the parks so my girlfriends and I book Chef Mickey for dinner. It gets us in the Disney mood and does not require a park ticket (I am the only one with an AP)

But be sure to allow enough time to get to the ADR. I came in last July and was supposed to arrive at 5pm is, so I made the ADR for 9-ish. But our connecting flight out of Atlanta was delayed and by the time we arrived at MCO, got the baggage, rental car, and found our way to WDW, it was after 8:30 and we had a 8:50 ADR at CM at the Contemporary. We dropped the bags off at bell services at our hotel (did not want to leave them in the car where anyone could see them) and hustled over to CM.

Just make it and had a wonderful time. Went back to hotel and checked in properly around 10:30.

My DH and I do one if not two character meals each trip (and we are 56 and 51--he is the 56, not me ). We do not feel out of place at all and enjoy having our pictures taken with the characters as much as the kids. No, we don't do autographs and we don't go chasing the characters down. But if they come to the table and are willing, we always do a picture. Our favorite is the Crystal Palace breakfast with Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet. We do this one every trip.

I have to say I was not pleased with Chef Mickey's this last go round. I've done a lot of character breakfasts as adults only (including CM's) and haven't had this problem. I'd say O'Hana for breakfast is my favorite for characters.

Last time at CM's they sat us right away (yay!) but sat us in a room that the characters were just leaving. Ok...I figured the characters were going quick that morning, no biggie. But they weren't. Our waitress left our check withus and then kept coming back to check it to see if we paid yet. Meanwhile, everyone else in the room was leaving and they were starting to seat the people who had checked in around the same time as us. And we hadn't seen the characters yet. I don't pay that much for a normal breakfast. It was very obvious they were trying to turn the table because we were 2 adults. I wasn't pleased. And I'm stubborn, so we sat and saw all the characters After that (and the construction dust on the check in keyboard...ew) it'll be awhile before I'm back at Chef Mickey's.

I'm going to chime in again and say go with Ohana if our looking for a more reserved character encounter. We had such a wonderful breakfast and quite peaceful, no loud antics or such. All the characters spent quality time with us even though we were 3 adults and 2 teenagers. It was a relaxing morning that we plan on doing again in just a few weeks.

We're in our 60s and last year we went to 1900 Park, Garden Grill, CP, and CM. So no, adults don't go to character meals!

My girlfriend and I did the princess dinner in Noraway last year for my birthday and had a blast. We even booked the day of. The prefect place for a group of girls.

I just got back from a girls only trip with my DD18 and DM65 and I'm 42. We did a character meal everyday! We did LTT,CRT, Akerhaus, Park Fair and Ohana. Our favorite was the Akerhaus breakfast. We found the princesses there much friendlier and more enchanting then at CRT. At no point did we feel out of place without having any children in our party. We did however enjoy watching the reactions of the kids around us! Have a great time!
