Adult bullies...

Run into any ever? There is one at work...never anything nice to say to anyone, threatening, always putting people down.
But she acts as if she knows everything....

Today I asked her if she was picked on in high school, and if she now feels this is her chance to get back at everyone!! (yes, I'm sure I just made it worse, but she doesn't scare me. it's the other girls she tries to intimidate that I get upset about)

Have you had to deal with someone like that? What did you do?

At least you know where a bully stands at work. Much easier to deal with than passive aggressive, childish nonsense.

I have encountered a few in my time. They are really surprizing at times. I never expect an adult to bully someone.

We had one at work too. She was nasty to the bone. She knew (as bullies always do) who to pick on. No-one liked her. She cheated on her OT (we are allowed to do some at home), went thru people's desks, etc. Well, she got hers. They fired her last June! They didn't even let her go back to her desk--they called her up to HR, fired her, and my boss came down and got her bag so she could leave. When they went thru her desk, they found out she was keeping track of anybody's hours. Her tashy boyfriend called and threaten her supervisor, but he was such an idiot he left it on the voice mail! Our workplace is sooooooo much better without her and her body odor!

We had one at work... she was just awful. She was loud, overbearing, mean, hateful, spiteful, sneaky and backstabbing. I was never so glad as when they finally fired her. She still claims to have no clue why they fired her.. how can she not know! OP, good for you for standing up to the bully.. I wish many times over that I had stood up to the one at my job.

There is one at work at well here. She is NASTY. She isn't my boss, but she certainly asks like it.

I've known quite a few. The worst was the woman who lived upstairs from us several years ago. She was an awful bully. She even bullied my daughter, who at the time was 3-7 years old and pathetically shy. It used to make her cry really bad.

I did finally get even. After we moved, I wrote a nice long letter to our landlady about all the mean things she did to us and she got evicted. The landlady wanted documented proof of her harassing other tenants before she would get rid of her - so I gave it to her - I only wished I would have done it alot sooner.

I don't let people boss me around. And you will find bullies anywhere and at any age.

Since I have a strong personality, I am not easy to bully. I have had people try to bully me, but they are not usually successful. I don't think I am ever nasty, or if it's at work, I am not unprofessional, but I don't let people step on me either.

Quite frankly, most people who are bullies tend to go after the weak ones who they know won't stand up for themselves, which is probably why I don't have much trouble with bullies in the 1st place!
