Hi all,
I'm returning to DLR in just a few weeks. I was there last August with my 10 year old grandson and we had a blast. That trip was ALL about him ❤
This trip my adult daughter is coming with us and we have 4 day Parkhoppers. I'm looking for suggestions for places where we can sit and have a quick beer or a cocktail and the little guy can have a soft drink. Having the 4 day pass I am not worried about trying to cram everything in in a short time period. I'd like to be able to sit and enjoy the whole experience instead of rushing from attraction to attraction and for my daughter and I enjoying the whole experience sometimes involves a libation ☺
The only place I have read about is the Cove Bar and that us definitely on our list. We like to split an appetizer or two at different places throughout the afternoon/evening rather than a big sit down meal. Any other suggestions? Thank you!

Disneyland does not serve alcohol, but in DCA you have options! Yes, Cove Bar is a great option, great drinks and food (Lobster Nachos!!!), and the little guy can watch Scream'n roller coaster go by. Then there is Carthy Circle Lounge. This is an in-door lounge, so its really nice if its a hot day. You can go to the lounge area without having a reservation at Carthay Circle Restaurant. Then at Pacific Warf, there is a beer truck and margarita quick service, these are nice quick on the go drinks.

If you get a chance, you can go to Disneyland Hotel and go to Trader Sams. This place is super fun! If you order their specialty drinks, "enchanted" things happen in the bar area! I believe kids are allowed in before a certain time.

Have Fun,

Kriss :tink:

Our Top 5 Favorite Places to Drink Around Disneyland:
1. Carthay Circle Lounge (DCA)
2. Napa Rose Lounge (GC Hotel)
3. Trader Sam's (Downtown Disney)
4. Tortilla Joe's (Downtown Disney)
5. Cove Bar (DCA)
We are craft cocktail people but you can get a good beer at any of these places.

Also, Uva Bar in Downtown Disney. They have pretty good food, beer and drinks (my kids liked getting the virgin strawberry daiquiri). Plus you can just sit and people watch (it's outside).

I also love Uva Bar in DTD. The only thing is that I really like sitting AT the bar there, which you wouldn't be able to do with a kid. If you have time, Trader Sam's in the DLH is awesome and would be enjoyable for the 10 year old as well. However, it can be hard to get a seat. Try mid-afternoon. I think they allow kids until 6 or 7. Inside the parks, I also like Carthay Circle and Cove Bar. And WCT is great if you like wine, they have a very nice wine list and you can sit outside at a table with an umbrella so it's shady. Their appetizers are very good. Also agree on the lounge at Napa Rose in the GCH, although I'm not sure that would be as fun for your 10 year-old (same is true for CC lounge).

Napa Rose Lounge will be the most quiet and relaxing. It is just inside the GHC from the DCA to GCH exit.

All the seats up front are first come first serve and they serve the full menu including appetizers and desserts...as well as adult beverages.

At the cozy cone motel in DCA, the cone that serves the conequeso, also serves a vodka pomegranate limeade and it's delish! Very refreshing on a warm day. A cone or two down they serve soft serve, so your little guy could get an ice cream while you and your daughter enjoy some adult beverages. I also recommend cove bar.

Wine Country Trattoria, where my wife and I have eaten a couple of times, do serve some lovely wines as part of the menu. These make a change if you're not so keen on hard liquor such as vodka and other spirits. Very much recommended, though it is not cheap, it is not too expensive either.

I got a margarita at the wharf. It was refreshing during the 97 degree day...but I'm convinced there was no alcohol in it. If there was...it had to be less than a shot. It was very expensive for what I received. I could have had the frozen lemonades at DL for half the price. :rotfl:

My sister ordered the cotton candy lemonade from the cove bar and they offered to add raspberry vodka if she wanted (she said yes, duh) and she said it was a strong pour and super worth the wait!

Okay I'm going to DEMAND that next time. :rotfl: Okay not really but I'm definitely asking for that in June!!!

Cove Bar doesn't skimp on the booze. I agree with you about the tequila in the margarita on the wharf and there is also a pomegranate limeade thing at the Cozy Cones that allegedly has vodka in it, but if it does, it isn't much.

Yeah, DCA is pretty much all over the place with the amount of alcohol they put in the drinks. I've found the table service restaurants tend to pour more liberally than other locations. I ordered the drink from Cozy Cone as well and would agree that it "allegedly" had vodka in it! Same was true of whatever the concoction is they give you for WOC dessert party. I could have given that to DD13 and she probably wouldn't have felt a thing! :) But I've had some stronger drinks at Trader Sam's and Napa Rose. At least with wine you know what you're getting for the price!

Alfresco Tasting Terrace is very nice. Steakhouse Lounge is one of our favs. Also Carthay (love the tacos!) And Hearthstone Lounge in the GCH.
