Ads Taking Over

Every time I click on a DIS feature: edit, quote, reply or like, it automatically opens a new window for some random site.

Yes, even peeps on the Updated Disney Gift Card Deals and More are complaining about this issue.

@WebmasterCorey is there anything you can do to fix this? It's so frustrating and time consuming.

Try switching to the Wide template and let me know if it fixes the issue.

I think you tried fixing this issue back in April, doing the same Wide template. The issue may not have been fixed.

Same problem on my phone. It is a major issue. It is intermittent but infuriating.

It’s not intentional on our end. I just put a report in with Google. Hopefully, they can find and block the ad that's causing it in their network.

Yep Id say this happens about half the time I try to click a link. Home shopping website is the one that opens up the most but Ive had spas and many others.

This happens to me all the time. When I click to open a post I am often taken to a real estate ad instead of the post. The second most common one is randomly opening the App Store to download some random app. I can’t figure out a pattern as to why it happens. My ad blocker does not stop it from it happening.

This has been happening for a while (months). Clearing the browser cache and cookies every couple of weeks seems to fix it for me.

Same here. I clicked on the next page prompt at the bottom of the page (page number, from page 1 to page 2) and I was directed to an ad for a Dodge Ram truck. It also happened when trying to post a reply. Just did it now as I hit "post reply" here. Instead of posting this, it took me to an ad for the French Open. Second try it posted (I edited this, and ironically as I hit save, it took me an ad for a resort in Jamaica).

I saw mentionings in a thread somewhere here that this is how the site makes money. I have no idea if this is true just throwing it out there.

I don't believe it's intentional on your part whatsoever. I know you work very hard. I just wish they would fix the issue as it's been 10 days since I first reported it to you.

Please know in order for me to post offers which I do everyday, I have to have two windows open on my screen, sometimes three; my thread, the store with the offer and my credit card spreadsheet. When using the wide format it makes what I do take longer which is frustrating.

Again, I know the issues was reported back in April but I never had a problem on the gift card thread until a few days before contacting you. It's almost like this invasive conundrum is moving around on various threads. How frustrating it must be for you as well.

It's not "wide mode" on your computer or screen settings. It's the template at the bottom of the DISboards. I posted instructions here:

Thank you. I added adblocker plus since there was no end date and I'm no longer having these issues.
