Wilderness- We are driving to Florida too, although we are driving from Minnesota! We actually love the drive, it is part of our vacation.
We are renting points through DVC as well. It is a great way to visit WDW! Next time we go, I may have to split our trip up. I would love to stay at the BWV sometime! I was just worried about all the packing and re-packing!
On an off topic, how do you like living in Florida? We are considering a move there. Our jobs dont have a transfer opportunity, so it is a difficult decision to make!

I love long car trips also, although I gotta say the 4 hours it takes to get to WDW is JUST RIGHT!

What DVC resort are you staying at? Renting points is VERY smart! I love it!

About FL...hmmm...well, I am a 3rd generation native Miamian. We find Miami unlivable now, and I moved just a wee bit north to the Ft Lauderdale area 10 years ago, but now I am realizing it was not far enough away! If you were to move down here, I would highly reccommend the West Coast of FL...or north FL. Don't get me wrong...tons of people move down here (South FL) and love it. DH (also a native) and I talk about moving up to YOUR area believe it or not! I am not sure I could live in snow, but i would be willing to try to get a more family oriented community. Plus, the housing prices are crazy down here. But, like you, his job doesn't provide for transferring, so if we did it it would be a very big deal. Also, I don't really want to leave my parents.

So, in summary...of course the weather is great in FL but be careful, it is getting SO crowded! If you are thinking about FL, consider norh or west!
