IF they have the new ADR policy of 90 days out for making reservations will this affect DVC members or only nonDVC people?

Thanks!

I thought this was just a temporary change.

But I would assume it affects everyone. Until it's announce, I don't think we know for sure. But I can't see it being any different for DVC members. Now it is possible that they can make different rules ( as it is now) for onsite vs offsite guest.

Members staying at DVC resorts will follow whatever the rules are for other onsite guests.

If a member is staying offsite, they'll follow the offsite rules. There are no special ADR rules applied by virtue of DVC membership.

when does this policy go into effect? We're still switching Dec ressies around a bit and haven't heard anything from disney about this new change.

TIA!

Where is everyone hearing about this new ADR policy? I can't find anything about it on the Dining Boards....

Hiya! You know I'm totally a wannabe DVC member! Pretty soon I'll have a pathetic homemade "Beach Club Villas Member 4-Eva" banner in my signature.... :rotfl:

Hey I'm going to try Caryn's favorite place the BW this January(even nabbed a BW view).

Hey your homemade banner will probably look great!

To get back OT,

I like the 90 days would like it to stay that way. Just called earlier and got an ADR for dinner at Jiko's on 11/24. My sheet with ADR numbers is a mess. I remember your pictures and praise of the sturgeon, so I switched from Boma to Jiko's.

More info I have to keep track of. My luck they will change the system back ahead of schedule and I'll end up at Tony's  everynight.

Do cash guests have to be paid in full before they can make ADRs? I think that would help a lot if that is not the current policy. How many people make all of those reservations and then bug out when the final payment is due. Then they've held up reservations that other people couldn't get. Disney Cruise Line does this. You have to be paid in full to make spa, Palo or other reservations.

Well the big difference there is that if you are going on a Disney Crusie you can't stay offsite and use their restaraunt. So it works fine for them to not allow reservations until it is paid in full.

There are a lot of people that do not stay at a Disney resort but still make ressies for restaraunts. We are staying our first week offsite and I am making a couple of reservations that week.

A couple of weeks ago someone reported they had been told by a CM that the ADR's were going from a 6 month to a 9 months booking timeframe in order to help with complaints about the system! At least they got part of the number correct! :lmao:

I for one hope that it stays at 90 days.

I don't mind a change from 180 to 90. So long as everyone's on the same level playing field it shouldn't make a big difference in getting what you want. It will be nice to have the park schedules in hand when starting to make ADRs.

I don't think it will solve the issue of no-shows, though. If they want to do that, and I wish they would, they should institute a policy of credit card confirmations for every ADR. Granted, there'd have to be some flexibility if there are problems with transportation and getting stuck on a ride, but it would at least stop people from making reservations they never intend to use.

I think the 90 days will be great.

That article makes it sound like it is linked to the changes in the reservation system. Perhaps that means we will get online booking sooner than we thought! Frankly, I used to like the 90 day booking deadline before they changed it to 180. It was infinitely easier to remember, and I am just NOT ready to think about things like that 6 months ahead of a trip.
