ADRs or Hotel Reservation first?

Seeing as how the ADRs are far more limiting than hotel rooms, and virtually risk free as opposed to the hotel rooms should I look at getting my ADRs first then plan my dates or just set my dates and focus on getting the ADRs?

Let me clarify, we're going late Sep early Oct, just haven't set EXACT dates yet.

Jeff

I do hotel reservation first, if I am more than 180 days out, because you can always change or cancel the hotel. If you have a hotel ressie, then you can book 180+10 days out. Basically, you will get to book ADRs for your entire vacation (10 days or less) at once. Otherwise, with no onsite hotel ressie, you will have to book the ADRs one day at a time at 6am EST every morning:crazy2:

One other thing to consider that the most popular restaurants ADRs goes very fast. If you're considering late September, early October, then those ADRs may already be gone

first you should figure out your travel dates.
how are you going to make ADR's or hotel reservations when you aren't sure of exact dates?
once you know your dates you can book ADR's and your hotel reservation in whatever order you want.
if you want to delay your hotel booking for some reason (like you haven't decided on what hotel or you'd like to wait until your CC statement closes for this month) then do ADR'S first.

My dates are flexible. I could move them around a day or 2 in either direction to get a desirable ADR.

Since you are less then 180 days out, you might as well just start booking dining now and then figure out your days based on what you can get.

I have my whole trip planned and booked long before ADRs are available.

To be honest there is nowhere at Disney I'd be so keen to eat at I'd move hotel or dates for.
