I'm planning this last minute trip and haven't been to WDW in forever and am just now learing about ADRs. We are a group of 3 most of the time (me, ds14, ds17), occasionally we might be 5 when my brother and SIL who live locally might join us. We will be staying 7/28 - 8/2.

I would like to take my kids to some cool restaurants, but they would all be outside of the theme parks, as we are doing all water parks and no real theme parks during our stay.

Should I even try to get ADRs or just wing it? We would like to go to the Cape May clambake, Boma, Ohana, Artist Point, etc.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

We're arriving 8/3 and I just made a bunch today (for 7 people). I wouldn't wait much longer though. Just don't take anything I want. ;)

Hi Angela,

As Gregg said, go ahead and call, it's better to make an ADr and cancel than to wait in loooooonnnnnggggg lines to eat.

Many of the restaurants you list are very popular, so you may need to be flexible with dining times. But some of those restaurants will probably not take walk-ups.

I ALWAYS FEEL IT'S BETTER TO MAKE THEM IN ADVANCE... BUT GIVE IT A TRY YOU JUST MIGHT GET LUCKY AS PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS CANCELLING AT THE LAST MINUTE! :thumbsup2

i would call dining and see
i got just got chef mickeys for august and we the WL CL had been trying for us for weeks
so you just have to keep trying

I'd make them. Espeically if you were trying to go to different hotels. I wouldn't want to spend my time driving to a hotel restaurant and to find out you can't eat there.

Make them if they are available. We waited 1 hour 45 minutes at Whispering Canyon last year in june w/ no reservations.

Give them a call! Today I managed to get Ohana's breakfast on 8/8 AND there was a choice of 4 time slots (7.30, 8.10, 8.30 and 9.10).

I agree.....give them a call. But have some back-ups just in case. And unless you have to hold the ADR with a Credit Card you can change them the day you are there, if you need to. Last month we really wanted to go to Ohana's but I couldn't get and ADR. :sad1: So I booked Kona instead. We arrived early and found out we would be able to get a table for Ohana's :cool1: and then canceled our Kona ADR. WE LOVED OHANA'S

Doing the mega-happy dance!!! I just called and got the following:

Raglan Road night of arrival for 3 @ 8:30pm
Ohana for 5 @ 8:30pm
Cape May Cafe Clambake for 5 @ 8:20pm
California Grill for 3 @ 9:20pm on a night when fireworks are at 10pm
Boma for 3 @ 8:20pm

I was speechless! The person who was taking the reservations was shocked. It helps that we are late eaters and won't be going until after the waterparks close.

Thanks to all for you help & advice.
Yay!!!
