I know of course that there is no such thing as too soon on ADR's.

But how soon do I really need to have them locked down ?

Places we are looking at

Crystal Palace

Le Cellier

Donalds Breakfast

Teppanyakis

Whispering Canyon Cafe

Trails End Buffet

Bomas

50's prime time

Raglan Road

I would hope to have all the dates picked and ressies made by mid to late May.

Is this going to work or do I need to push harder ?

If you are very flexible on times for dining (opting for lunch instead of dinner for example), for the most popular restaurants like Le Cellier then you may still be lucky and get an ADR if you call today!!!!

There are reports on here, that Sept dinners for LC are fully booked already.

So the sooner the better if you can.

I would try to book the ones most important to you as soon as possible. If you have small children and won't be as flexible on ADR times, I would try to get them all done now. I've tried to change a few that I have for the last week in Sept. and have hit roadblocks.:sad2:

I would call today!!!
I booked or FD on 4/9 and called the next day for ADRs.
I'm glad that I did because I was able to get where I
wanted and when I wanted.
I've already had to rearrange a few of my ADRs
because of finally got Airfare and was going to
use a TS for Breakfast at our Resort and now won't
have as much time in the morning so
have to go with CS instead.
Don't Put this off Call soon!!!;)

Book LC and CP as soon as possible or you won't get an ADR...it may already be too late for LC.

Good advice here, but I would also urge you to call now. I booked on 4/13, and, while I was able to get all of the restaurants I wanted, I did have to compromise on the times a little (already!).

Call today! You can always try to change them later if you want something different. At least you will have something booked!

Especially since you are going during free DDP.
Much talk of full restaurants already...
I booked in late Oct. (NO free DDP). I booked at 177 days, and already had difficulty booking an ADR for 6 at Le Cellier for dinner. We had to split tables or take an 8:40 ressie (not so good w/ kids...)

I would set up your first & second choices, and be flexible, but I would DO IT NOW!

I tried to add another ADR for LeCellier for our trip and wasn't able to. We're going from 9/16 - 9/29 and the CM checked everyday, including lunch. We are a party of 6, so perhaps that's the problem, but if you want LeCellier, you should try to get it now!

How soon? About a month and a half ago. :rotfl2:

I hate being shut out of a restaurant I want to eat at so I'm one of those people who call 180 days out to make my reservations.

We are going to Disney 9-22 - 9-29. I called yesterday (4-30) to have friends (3) added to our reservations (which we booked before the free dining started).

From your list, we have Crystal Palace, Teppanyakis, Bomas, 50's Prime Time, and Le Cellier. (Great choices-we think!)

We were able to keep our breakfast time for CP when we added our 3 friends, with no problems.

We have 5:00 reservations for Teppanyakis, and we could not get our friends added any time between 5-6:30. They were only able to put them in at 4:45. We left our res. for 5:00 and hope to be able to move them to 5:00 later if there is a cancellation.

Bomas - we added them with no problems.

50's Prime Time - we had to adjust our time by 30 minutes, but were able to get them in. We did not try to adjust Le Cellier, because they will not be going there with us, but I have heard it is VERY booked for September.

If the restaurants are important to you, I wouldn't wait. Especially if you are traveling with a lot of people, like we are. You may already have trouble getting good times at some of the places, like Tepp. and Le Cellier, but go ahead and get whatever you can booked, so that you have something. You picked some popular places.

You didn't mention O'hana, but we tried to get our friends in there with us, and couldn't get them in AT ALL. We will try back later. We were able to get them a reservation for Chef Mickey's at breakfast easily. We were also able to get them in at Cap'n Jack's.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the responses.

I know there is no such thing as too soon but we didnt book until a couple weeks ago. It's a group of 5 adults, and we live in different places, so it is taking time to coordinate time and places for dining.

But with no kids we can be flexible on things.

I called yesterday to make adrs and got into Le Cellier for lunch on 9/25. They had no openings thru 22 - 30 at night, but the guy said I could have what ever I wanted for lunch times! So if your ok on going there for lunch you shouldn't have a problem.
I also made ressies for:
50's Prime Time
Bomas
Crystal Palace (B)
Rose and Crown
Spoodles
Donalds Breakfast
Hollywood & Vine
Chef Mickeys
San Angel Inn
Good luck!!!!:)

I agree with everyone. Call ASAP! I called right around this time last year for my September trip. I managed to get everything I wanted, including LeCellier, even though the dinner was a little earlier than I wanted. Call now! You can always fiddle with some of them later if the schedule needs tweaking.

Let the DIS'ers help you! :cool1: Post the resort where you're staying and which days you're visiting which parks (and whether you'll have hoppers or not) and you'll probably get a good number of "draft" ADR plans that you can use to make your ADRs ASAP. Then as you talk it over with your friends, you can always call Dining back and see if you can make changes.

Gee that's a very kind offer.

We are staying at Cornado Springs. We arrive very early Friday morning (the 14th) and leave Sunday afternoon (the 23rd).

We have the full park hoppers so we will be visiting everywhere.

We know we want to do the places above, but would welcome other ideas.

There are 5 adults in the group

This is a great question. I was just about to post asking the same thing:thumbsup2

Usually I have no problem picking all my ADR's but now that I'm bringing a toddler on my trip I'm having a hard time making plans.

I have three meals booked...I have Coral Reef, Kona Cafe, and the Play'n'Dine breakfast.

I have ideas of where I want to eat, but I think it will depend on what parks we are at, and I just don't know how things are going to go until we get there.

jenrose,

I do totally understand what you are saying, but I worry with free dining being on whilst you are there, that you will struggle to get a sit down meal in a suitable restaurant, at a reasonable time with the baby.

If you can even try and book some now, then if you change your mind (even when there) you can cancel them, but at least you have somewhere to eat at a convenient time for the baby.

I found taking our DD when she was tiny hard enough without scrabbling around trying to find somewhere to eat as well. Just a thought and not a criticism.

OK, here's my suggestion and you might also try posting your request on the theme parks board.

9/14 - you say you will be arriving very early; you'll still need to go to CSR and check in and get your DDP activated before hitting the parks. Epcot's attendance is usually highest on Fridays so stay away from there. This might be a good day to do some light touring at MK, which closes early at 7 due to MNSSHP. Leave the park early and make your ADR for either Whispering Canyon or Trails End.

9/15 - Studios has MMH so stay away from there. Try Epcot and try making an ADR for Le Cellier. It probably will be full. Ask the Dining CM if there are any nights during your stay when there is a dinner reservation open; if so, grab it. If not, make your ADR for lunch.

9/16 - AK and Boma. MK has EMH (open til 11), so go to Boma after leaving AK, then go to MK after Boma.

9/17 - Studios & 50sPT. Studios has EMH so you can stay til 11.

9/18 - MK & CP.

9/19 - Go wherever you want in the morning and have a late lunch then go to AK in the afternoon since this is an EMH night at AK (open til 8). Make a late ADR for Raglan Road.

9/20 - Studios or Epcot, then an early (5 or 5:30) ADR at Whispering Canyon or Trails End, then take the boat to MK for Spectromagic at 8 and Wishes at 9.

9/21 - Studios or Epcot, Teppanyaki for dinner. Stay at Epcot for EMH or you could go to MNSSHP (get tickets in advance though).

9/22 - Breakfastosaurus (or save it for Sunday's breakfast). Go to whatever parks you want on Sat. & Sun. to see whatever you've missed or want to see again.

Have fun!

i didn't look @ this whole thread but I can tell you that you want to call RIGHT AWAY-- I was looking for Lecellier for dinner for 9/23-24-25-26-27-28 & they are booked!! :confused3 I don't know what I will do for dinner @ Epcot now, and also if you are going to MNSSHP & what to get ADR"S for LTT, that's another one that may be hard... well good luck :wizard: I thikn that we will both need it.
