After a bit of shuffling, I think I've finally come up with a meal plan that we are going to be very happy with.
Day one: Arrive by car around 11 am. Check-in at resort. Lunch at Mara. Visit AKL savannah. Swim and relax at resort until room is ready. Dinner at 1900 Park Fare (7:30 pm).
Day two: MK at RD. Lunch at CRT (12:05 pm), followed by midday break for swimming and relaxing at resort. Return to MK around 5-6 pm. Dinner at Plaza Restaurant (8 pm). Stake claim for 10 pm Wishes. EMH after fireworks.
Day three: Sleep in after late night EMH. Lunch at Wolfgang Puck Express and shopping at DTD. Typhoon Lagoon from around 2-3 pm until 7 pm. Dinner at Sassagoula Floatworks around 8 pm.
Day four: AK at RD (rides). Lunch at Yak & Yeti (1 pm). Explore trails, see shows, etc. after lunch. Maybe ride some more in late afternoon if lines aren't too long or using FP. CS dinner: Kids at Restaurantosaurus, Pizzafari, or maybe wait and go to food court at resort. DW and I may just get a fried rice from Y&Y CS to split and have it with leftovers from lunch (which we had last time).
Day five: DHS at RD. CS lunch (Backlot Express, Pizza Planet, or Starring Rolls, depending on what we feel like). Milkshakes from Sci-Fi (3 pm). Dinner at Captain's Grille (8:25 pm).
Day six: Relax at resort day. CS lunch at resort food court. Swimming, lay on beach, maybe rent speed boats for an hour. Dinner at Ohana (8 pm). Watch Wishes from Poly beach.
Day seven: EPCOT at RD. Lunch at San Angel Inn (11:50 am). I know this has gotten mixed reviews, but recent report are that it's greatly improved. Plus, I think what we will be ordering is relatively "safe" (i.e., hard to mess up) and we've always wanted to have lunch by the volcano, pyramid, and river but never have. CS dinner at Sunshine Seasons.
Day eight: Check-out between 10-11 am. CS lunch at Pollo Campero. Pick up any last minute souvenirs at DTD and get on the road around 1 pm. Dinner on the road (typically Panera Bread or Cracker Barrel if one is close by when we get hungry... gotta love that GPS food search!).
I'm really looking forward to trying many new restaurants on this trip. We ate in the castle once years ago (it was King Stephan's Banquet Hall back in those days). Other than that, our meals have always been somewhat boring (albeit very economical): Columbia Harbor House and Cosmic Ray's at MK (although I still really love CHH), Electric Umbrella at EPCOT, Restaurantosaurus at AK, Backlot Express at DHS, and also some off-site fastfood. On any given trip we maybe go to one TS meal such as Rainforest Cafe at AK (last time we went to Y&Y and liked it a lot) or off-site like Giordano's pizza (which is also a treat since I only get it once a year when I'm in Chicago or occasionally in Orlando).
